What makes StarCraft II so good?

Never understood the hype with Starcraft, I've always found it to be a fun ok game

I've always loved the storyline. Zeratul FTW. I don't play StarCraft II that much but I still look forward for the expansions. There's something about the RTS that is really good about it. Blizzard really knows how to balance the classes and constantly tweaks them.

I actually don't play it, though I do own it. I prefer to watch others play it and it's the only game that I can stand just watching as opposed to playing.

It is a sport, and it's fun to watch.

A new game to pwn noobs who don't know how to micro or build a expansion.

Decent game with a huge fan base that will never die out because who doesn't like a sci-fi based RTS.Only downside is the 3 separate campaign coming out 1 at a time. I think that people who played warcraft moved over to starcraft for the new graphic way back when starcraft was originally created. Thus creating the game base for starcraft. There's also the fact that blizzard's game development take a long time, like the timeframe between WC, SC and diablo series.

well why I think it's good:
Every game is different because of every person plays differently
It takes alot of skill because everyone starts out the same
and It has very cool graphics

The game has Blizzard smoothness and creativity, I used to be a giant fan of Age of Empires and Empire Earth, etc. Now I'd only play Starcraft, it's tough to explain but Blizzard wins the MMO and RTS market. The storyline is great too. Also, not to forget everything in the game is 100% balanced, even if people say it's not - it is. That's what I would say makes it special.

Not to forget people love competition and there's lots of it in SC2.

You can't go wrong with blizzard. Great story, after game patches and updates keep the game going strong.

Starcraft have fantastic cinematics, a creative storyline, and almost infinite replay value. It has been over 13 years and Starcraft is still one of the most games I have played. The game is very well balanced at all levels it will take a while for Starcraft 2 to reach almost perfect balance, but they will reach it.

I totally agree with you Blizzard are great with their storyline's, i've enjoyed everygame of theres because of it. There very good with balancing, always keeping us updated with patches etc. I

I dont really like starcraft.... way too slow for my taste

I think it's got something to do with having the power to play however you like and the game still be evenly matched. If you prefure to play a mod you can. If you want to play on a team of 5 or by yourself. If you want to turtle or rush. Even cheese if you want.

in my opinion is not that cool. it is not realy my type of game...

The only reason SC2 beats SC is because of the AI, graphics (optional) and functionality updates.

The editor beats Warcraft 3's editor and can be used to almost make an entirely new game inside the engine.

Combine them two and you have one of the most attractive RTS games on the market, especially after the following of SC/WAR3.


Otherwise, campaign wise, SC2 is trash; especially after dismissing Glynnis, much to the dismay of tens of thousands of fans.

Why have I played Starcraft for 10 years? Custom maps. Why will I play SC2 for the next 10? ..I probably won't, but if I do, it'll be for the same reason. Although.. I do feel a bit more competitive this time around; so maybe I'll do ladder play.

I've only played SC2 for the story, but that was my reason for liking it, the story is great.

i played starcraft 2 for awhile not close to as long as the original though been playing lol and minecraft

I am used to the long drawn out battles of larger supreme commander matches, I love Starcraft 2, but nearly any ranked match is brutal, many matches i have looked at and had to wonder how i was rushed with such a large amount of units early into the game, on the other hand this is one of the best stories i have seen in an rts for a decent amount of time.

Great game. Keeps me on my toes in multiplayer. Loved it since number 1.

I like the living community always new maps when you log on and always players who are kind and want to play
