There's a soldier in all of us

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 dropped this week to solid reviews, just like Battlefield 3 before it. So which is the better game? Answering that question is largely a matter of taste.
Says one PC gamer after playing: "I guess it all boils down to if you would perfer Battlefield 3. A broken game with numerous bugs that might/might not be fixed soon in patches. Or Modern Warfare 3. A perfectly working game, but with fundamental issues of overly rehashed gameplays that are not technical, but are simply unfixable."
Calling Battlefield 3 "broken" is laying it on a bit thick. And let the record show that Modern Warfare 3's "rehashed gameplay" is still fun.
But the point is: Neither is a "change your life" kind of game, nor as big as their marketing budgets would suggest. Granted, most games aren't. But amid all the hooopla, let's not forget: both of these games are worthwhile shooters best enjoyed with friends.
Neither is as balanced as the great one (Hi, Counter-Strike). But both are a fresh battlefield for the soldier in all of us.

He got paid money for it. Maybe he plays CoD. Kobe did a Black Ops commercial and he just won a title. Activision has the money to spend on marketing. I personally like the commercial.
Each game has their own personality and charm, as well as flaws and imbalances. I have both and I like both for different reasons.
