5 reasons you'll love PC gaming this year

There's never a bad time to start or rekindle a love for PC gaming. But this year should be especially kind to the platform, argues Game Revolution.
First, PC gaming is more affordible than ever before, the site rightfully points out. Whether building your own rig, buying a sweet starter system, or even buying a top of the line Alienware, prices have gone down across the board. Thanks to Steam, games are cheaper too.
Secondly, this year is abnormally stocked with high-profile games: StarCraft II expansion, World of Warcraft expansion, Diablo III, Guild Wars 2, Dota 2, Mass Effect 3, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, and Hitman: Absolution to name a few.
Thirdly, consoles are showing their age, more than ever. So if you want to gawk at your game while you play it, PC is the only way to go, especially now.
Fourthly (is that even a word?): The PC gaming community is larger. Steam alone has a lot more members than Xbox Live. And multiplayer games on PC support at least two to three times the number of players, if not more.
Lastly, PC games have a lot more free content to extend the life of your games. We call them mods, they're exclusive to the platform, and they're awesome.

Most of the reasons were not exclusive to 2012, which means that there are many global reasons to love PC gaming. I can't wait for some high-profile PC games, but it feels like the number of those games is less than last year... but some names are bigger than others from last year. I'm VERY excited for D3 and GW2

Back then all I ever played on a PC was Doom and Diablo 2, but once I got into WoW and started thinking "huh, I wonder just HOW much can I upgrade my computer to make games look better...", that was kind of my slippery slope.
I love playing with my friends on Xbox Live, but slowly and steadily I'm converting (or finding they're into) more and more of them into PC gaming.
