Blast from the past: A movie game that didn't suck
September 26th, 2012
The year: 1997—I was a senior in high school. The game: Blade Runner—a movie tie-in game that was actually quite good.
Granted, Blade Runner (the game) was never going to win any gameplay awards. But it did its job emersing players into the movie's powerful universe with branching storylines, clever detective work, and digital exploration. In many ways, it reminded me of another '90s adventure game: Burn Cycle. I enjoyed them both (but then again I'm an adventure game junkie).
Anways, I had forgotten about the game until I recently rewatched the movie. Good times on both counts. So if you haven't heard of it, consider playing it. And if you have, tell me what you thought of the game: now and upon release.
