Blizzard, EA dominate retail PC games in July
August 13th, 2010
Selling nearly 750k copies last month, StarCraft II was the best selling game last month of any system—by far. And if that wasn't enough for Blizzard's golden coffers, several World of Warcraft editions continued to pepper the top 20 retail list, released today by NPD. (EA had a good month too, thanks to strong sales of Sims, Bad Company 2, and Dragon Age).
Excluding downloaded games, which represent nearly half of all PC gaming sales, these were the best-selling retail games for PC in July:
- PC Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty
- Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty Collector's Ed
- The Sims 3
- The Sims 3: Ambitions Expansion Pack
- PC Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister
- World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
- World Of Warcraft
- Starcraft: Battle Chest
- The Sims 2 Double Deluxe
- World Of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Expansion
- World Of Warcraft: Battle Chest
- The Sims 3: High-End Loft Stuff
- The Sims 3: World Adventures
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2
- Dragon Age: Origins
- Fallout Trilogy
- Empire: Total War
- Diablo Battle Chest
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- Plants vs Zombies
Battle Chess is kind of a big deal, eh? In any case, nice to see Plants vs Zombies on the list. Go, plants!
