I've said this before, but I really like seeing a liberal helping of action games on PC. Like right now.
Battlefield 3, out now, is the real deal. In a word, intense — perhaps the first true "next-generation" game I've played recently, both in terms of new gameplay and level-up presentation.
Hot on its heels: Batman: Arkham City, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Saint's Row The Third, and Modern Warfare 3 all within the next 30 days, all of which have previewed strongly. And not just the "we'll see and keep our fingers crossed" kind of previews, but legitimate and well-documented early praise.
Other action games are on the horizon as well. Those are just the big dogs.
What do you think of the recent influx of PC action games? Excited? Or "needs more StarCraft"?
