Reader poll: Will you buy Windows 8 next week?

Next Thursday, Microsoft will launch Windows 8, arguably its biggest OS launch since the mighty XP.

On the brightside, an upgrade from XP, Vista, or Windows will only cost you $40, if downloaded by Jan 31, 2013. The company has not said what it will cost after that.

On the downside, it's unclear how the tightly integrated touch and click interface will mesh. And as with all software upgrades, it's unclear what affect (if any) the new OS will have on current software, including your games.

i did not upgrade from xp till a got my alienware with windows 7. and there are some things i still miss about xp. and i dont think i need my pc to act like my phone or tablet. i think they should all work together but i dont see the need for my pc to work like my tab or phone. in short i dont see why we cant have 2 ver. one for the pc and one for my phone and tab that can all work together.

I have been using Windows 8 Developer and Release preview and i wasnt inpressed in the start but now it is feeling way better. Still im feeling like all the features are the same as Windows 7 so i wont buy it before i get it if dont have to get it.

exactly, I do feel like window 8 is trying to make your desktop/laptop more like your window phone.
