Despite recent momentum, some publishers still wary of PC gaming
November 29th, 2010
As current-generation consoles continue to age, PC gaming has regained significant momentum over the last two years. But that hasn't stopped some publishers, including THQ and Electronic Arts, from timidly embracing the platform.
“We have much of the technology in place to produce PC versions of all [our] games, but there is still some more work required to make them shippable and that costs money," writes Double Fine creative director Tim Schafer. "So far, our publishers (THQ and EA) have not elected to fund that work. Not because they hate PC gamers, but because they don’t see enough financial reward.”
Thankfully for PC enthusiasts, THQ and EA seem to be in the minority. And even they have redoubled their commitment to the platform lately, thanks to the upcoming Homefront and the recent Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

So true. I grew up on PC and the only downside to PC is the fact that you have to keep upgrading.
