Whoever said the PC doesn't have any action games is a turd.
Undoubtedly the platform is a haven for role playing, massive multiplayer, and strategy games. But the PC is no slouch when it comes to action games either. In fact, it's home to many of the same high-octane blockbusters consoles are known for.
Unconvinced? Consider the following, all released this year and rated 75% or higher (most above 80%):
- Splinter Cell: Conviction
- Plain Sight
- Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City
- Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West
- Just Cause 2 (pictured)
- Metro 2033
- Assassin's Creed II
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2
- BioShock 2
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat
Going back a full 12 months to May 2009 also adds the following:
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2
- Resident Evil 5
- Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
And that's excluding lesser known action titles like Torchlight or otherwise borderline rated games such as Battlefield Heroes or Aliens vs. Predator.
Admittedly, the PC isn't home to every great action game. But with a list that big, I don't feel sorry for you if you're short on action games to play.
So the next time someone says the PC doesn't have any action games, smack 'em on the head for me and point 'em to this URL.
