Would you buy HD remastered games?
September 30th, 2010

Ubisoft last week announced a remastered version of Beyond Good & Evil, featuring HD graphics (1080p), enhanced character models, upgraded textures, and a remastered musical score. No word yet if the downloadable game will make it to PC—although if Ubisoft's recent PC strategy is any indication, it probably will a few months after the console release.
In any case, the remastering of classic 4:3 games in widescreen HD is an increasing occurrence in games, and one I whole-heartily support. Services like GOG.com are great, but I'm more than willing to thrown down an extra $5-10 for upgraded visuals where available. Beyond Good & Evil is definitely one of those kind of games.
Released in 2003 (demo here), Beyond Good & Evil was a critically acclaimed Zelda clone. The story follows Jade, an investigative reporter and martial artist, who works with a resistance agency to uncover a government conspiracy. As Jade, players are tasked to solve puzzles, fight enemies, and obtain photographic evidence of corruption.
BG&E aside, what about you? Are you interested in HD remastered games? If so, what's the most you'd be willing to part with for remastered versions of your favorites?

I can't stand going back and playing classic games because the graphics are too painful, but I would otherwise totally be down for it. I'd be willing to pay a steep premium.
Omg, imagine if there was an HD remastered version of Diablo 2!?!?!
I would like to see better physics and much better textures

Yeah, its kinda diablo 3 but thats only coming out after Diablo 4 :3
remake of old games are pretty nice, depending on the makers, the style and the plot.
It could be just a copy of the first game, but that'll... be the same? and some "new" stuff with the graphics.
It could be a sequel and that is just the name with a "2" in the end of it.
I adore the old graphics, still playing counter-strike 1.6, even prefer it more than the "Source" version.
Bottom line: I am interested in HD remastered games but only if they stay the same with their STYLE that
made that game what it is in the first place.
