Alienware Arena launched registration today for the Counter-Strike 1.6 Digital Insurgency Tournament, the latest event in an ongoing series operated by iGames and CEVO. The tournament is sponsored with a $3,500 cash prize pool by Alienware®, Dell’s premier, high-performance PC gaming brand representing premium power and performance for gamers and technology enthusiasts alike.

Now a decade since public release, Counter-Strike™ 1.6 remains one of the world’s most popular first-person shooters and is the game of choice of many of America’s and Canada’s most dedicated and skilled gamers. Aspiring amateurs and established players alike are expected in a showdown that is every bit as immersive and intense as any other modern game.

Tournament play will begins October 26th with up to 128 teams competing through double-elimination brackets twice per week. The top 32 teams will advance to the finals leading up to the Championships that will be broadcast on AlienNetwork LIVE on Saturday, December 5th. Standard competitive rules for Counter-Strike 1.6 will apply.
