Alienware Arena is excited to present the Survival of the Fittest tournament for Left 4 Dead. Tell your friends and register today – it’s free to compete and you’ll have a chance at a $1,500 cash prize pool.
In the opening phase of the tournament up to 256 teams will compete in group play matches with up to 8 teams per group. The top team from each group, 32 groups in all, will advance to the double-elimination finals bracket.
The Survival of the Fittest Championship will feature the top 8 teams and will broadcast on the Alienware Arena site by the casters from PwnageTV. We promise there will be plenty of flesh destroying action!
All matches will be played 4-on-4 versus mode, using official maps and custom server plug-ins for match management. The Match Network Client will ensure fair game play and enable teams to reach each other at game time.

well this is my first time showing interest in a tourny so quick newbie question... do we assemble the teams ourselves or are they selected at random from the registerees?
edit: nevermind, i just looked around and i think i just realized that we assemble the teams. thanks for the oppurtunity, alienware.

I believe we would be running the CeVo plugin, if this much is true then check out their site (I'd post it here but I'm not sure how this forums is about linking other sites). Also I had, what to me seems to be a very important question. I see that the tournament starts August 10, is this a 1 day ordeal? Or will it span multiple days? I only ask because my gaming community has some quality interest in this event but is comprised of people from all over the spectrum so coordinating times is vital. Any insight would be appreciated and if the answer is obviously typed somewhere I apologize for wasting time but I didn't see it. Thanks again.

It is a two phase tournament, with pool-play from August 10 to Sept 3, and playoffs (for those that qualify) from Sept 7 to Sept 26. You'll have two matches per week to play against opposing teams.

"fudgemanofdoom" - in each round you will schedule a match time with your opponents, the opening match of the tournament can be played anytime between Aug 10 and Aug 13.

Unfortunately, I don't understand what you are saying.
This tournament is only open to residents of the United States and Canada.
Everytime I try to join a team or make on it says
"Unkown Event ()"
plz help!

What does it say in the 'Event' field when you go register?
