R.I.P. MyTime Disqualified
Monday, October 12, 2009
Dear Left 4 Dead Community,
On behalf of all of us at iGames and CEVO, we sincerely appreciate your efforts in calling to our attention suspicious play by “MyTime” from team Rest in Peace. You have done us all a great service and we thank you for your patience over the weekend.
During the course of the event we encountered no allegations or disputes against MyTime or team Rest in Peace and automatic anti-cheat flags did not trigger. Nonetheless, the evidence that you’ve collectively provided to us demonstrated sound reasoning and so we felt it was appropriate to investigate.
Upon manually reviewing MyTime’s anti-cheat logs in detail, it is clear that he did in fact utilize cheats. All other players are clear of any violations.
Accordingly, team Rest in Peace is disqualified and will not receive any portion of the event prizes. The other finalists are being moved up in their placement and prizes respectively:
1st – Dropouts
2nd – The Specialists (a.k.a. Team Eximius)
3rd – weWILLsurvive
It is disappointing when anyone attempts to cheat in a contest; however it is an inevitable reality that we as a competitive community will always need to face on occasion. Our best means of defense to keep events fun and fair is to work together, as in this case, to enact every possible means of ridding these individuals from our community. Thank you again for your contributions to this effort.
If you have any lingering concerns, please feel free to contact me directly through e-mail wayne[at]igames.org or phone at 650-917-9888 ext: 219.
Most sincerely,
Wayne Ferguson

MyTime was suspended at the initial notification of a complaint and has since been removed from the team. We have not had contact with MyTime since the time of the initial complaint and it appears he would rather run than face the consequences of his actions.
Rest assured that Rest In Peace has learned from the mistakes made in this incident, including a need for more thorough investigation of players utilized in competitive play. We will be instituting policies to discourage any violations in the future and we hope that the final outcome is satisfactory to the rest of the community.
We would like to further apologize to the teams directly affected by MyTime's actions and we wish them the best of luck in future competitive play. Rest In Peace will continue in the competitive arena considering past lessons learned and we hope to see you there.
