Screenburn was a blast! Thank you all for coming to visit with us this past weekend and we hope you guys had a ton of fun. We took plenty of pictures during these three days to help everyone recap all of the excitement!

Only a few days remain till SXSW 2012 kicks off! We’re definitely excited for Friday and to welcome everyone to the unforgettable city that is Austin, TX. This year Alienware is the primary sponsor for the ScreenBurn Arcade, a massive show floor where anyone can come checkout the biggest (and some yet-to-be released) games, chat with the developers, play on the latest hardware, and watch some of the world’s best competitive players duke it out!

As the primary sponsor for the event, Alienware was given a pretty huge booth and they made sure to take up every inch that the facility would allow them to occupy. If they couldn’t build it wider, then they figured out how to build it taller than the rest. There are over 30 Alienware systems in the area to make sure everyone gets plenty of opportunities to play and spectate. Here’s an early mock-up of what we’re building for the event – expect it to look even more bad-ass in person.

Attendees will have a chance to play some casual competitions on Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3, MicroVolts, Quantum Conundrum, and Tribes: Ascend for a chance at assorted prizes. Everything from an NVIDIA canteen up to a fully loaded Alienware X51 will be up for grabs.

So, if you’re in the area, drop by and play in one of our activities for your chance at some great swag:

Battlefield 3
Friday, March 9: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, March 10: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday, March 11: 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

On Friday, gamers will play in 4v4 Squad Rush mode with players on the winning team each receiving an NVIDIA Canteen. Two matches of 4v4 will be playing simultaneously.

On Saturday and Sunday, gamers will play in 4v4v4v4 Squad Deathmatch King of the Hill format. The winning team will continue to play until they are finally taken down. The prize a team receives will be based on how many rounds they were “King of the Hill”.

1 Round: NVIDIA Canteens
3 Rounds: BF3 Dog Tags
5 Rounds: Alienware TactX Mice and the winning team if forced to retire.

Mass Effect 3
Friday, March 9: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, March 10: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday, March 11: 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

During the Mass Effect 3 sessions, gamers will play four player co-op and race against three other teams to be the first to complete the mission or be the last team standing. Members of the winning team will receive Mass Effect 3 T-Shirts, Posters, or NVIDIA Ammo Bags.

MicroVolts
Friday, March 9: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, March 10: 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday, March 11: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

During SXSW, gamers will compete in 16 player FFA in MicroVolts’ Zombie Mode. Score points by surviving attacks from zombies, or as a zombie, earn them by taking out other players and turning them into zombies. The 1st place player will receive a $20 MicroVolt Card and the 2nd place player will receive a $15 MicroVolt Card. All other participants will receive a $10 MicroVolt Card.

Tribes: Ascend
Saturday, March 10: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, March 11: 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Play the new vision of the classic FPS by competing in 8v8 Team Deathmatch. Each member of the winning team will receive a Tribes: Ascend t-shirt and the losing team will receive a Tribes: Ascend Key Chain.

Quantum Conundrum
Friday, March 9: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, March 10: 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 11: 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

During SXSW, gamers will play the pre-released Quantum Conundrum for the very first time. All participants will receive a ticket into a drawing for a fully loaded Alienware X51. Players will have 10 minutes to learn this puzzle game’s mechanics and controls and play through the beginning of the game. Each player that reaches the checkpoint before the 10 minute timer will receive an additional raffle ticket. Additionally, the first player that reaches the checkpoint in each round will receive an additional raffle ticket.

The drawing for the Alienware X51 will take place on Sunday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m. You must be at the booth to win.

In addition to the competition games, ScreenBurn Arcade attendees will have a chance to play Blacklight Retribution, SPAZ, Rusty Hearts, Bounty Hounds, Firefall, The Witcher 2, Need for Speed: The Run, and Batman: Arkham City on assorted Alienware computers throughout the booth.

Additionally, active Alienware Arena members in the area were invited to the pre-opening party at the ScreenBurn Arcade and to the Official Alienware SXSW Party!
