Occupy
So whats your thoughts on OWS? how do you feel about economic/social inequalities?
Some of them had valid arguments. After the initial group, the people who joined it later were just hangers-on and muddled the whole movement. They pointed out problems but did not offer any real solutions. Taxing the rich more than anyone else percentage wise is not really a valid solution. Everyone should pay their fair and equal share. One group should not have to pay a lower percentage than the other. You can't create equality by promoting inequality towards a certain group.
Why all this hate towards businesses? Didn't the government have a hand in our problems as well? Don't college over charge for educations these days?

Occupy Wall Street
I think that while some have valid ideas and issues most are hypocrites and they just create more issues than they ever could hope to solve.
In short go home OWS!

Occupy Wall Street
I think they are in Oakland which recently had a clash with authorities. They vandalized City Hall. Most of the other occupy groups were disbursed by their cities.
Good to see some opinions,
Occupy is still going on & it wont be going away, Its a direct cause to our country in distress. As long as the problems persist there will be a occupy. For too long the people sat idle and let things just slide expecting our government to save us all, but guess what the people didnt get bailed out, house foreclosure's and predatory lending continues, Tuition fee's are the highest they have ever been & with no jobs for the graduating students they end up staying in debt for most of their life. Corporations are considered people and pay almost no taxes so they can create jobs...but the jobs are not being made.
I've been to occupy and there is many different types of people from all walks of life, social/political demographs(yes there is ppl from the left & the right together), its very multi-cultural & many with some amazing ideas. It truly changed my life and outlook.
OWS is not perfect, This is still a young movement and has a lot of growing up to do. So those looking or thinking its utopia, im sorry but these are just your average people trying to make a difference and create a dialogue.
My biggest concern is that our government's think they can just bury the occupy movements, which is just completely crazy because they only fuel it. People are pissed and are only getting more fierce from being beat by the police that used to protect their right to protest.
Beware of the MSM news agencies they will not and some cases CANNOT report honestly for Occupy, the truth you will find amongst the protesters and the people streaming Live video. There is still small occupies in some cities, but the Occupy in DC is the largest that remains.
I encourage you all to check it out, you dont need to go protest and march, OWS is a learning experience, it never hurts to see things in a new light.
Most importantly, remember noone & nothing is perfect, you and I are no better then the next person but together we are unstoppable
The people united will never be defeated.

a very good and fair opinion, i have to agree to your point about a utopia anyone that is expecting one is being irrational, the occupy movement in my opinion is just about tipping the scales so they're a little bit more equal

I honestly have not payed attention to any of it. Figured i would just let them do there thing
I haven't payed that much attention to it, but from what i gather, it hasn't been that successful.
My campus had a huge lower tuition fees protest. Seriously, these petitions have been going on for years. What has been the result? Jack squat. I can't help but feel there are better more effective ways of making a difference. Same goes for OWS. These all feel like large scale displays of "fighting the man" that zero effect the next day.
As much as a dislike paying so much for tuition, i can't help but feel i'm getting a pretty damn good bang for my buck. New buildings are popping up all around campus, there all sorts of state of the art machines in the labs. As a undergrad they are willing to fund MY research! Seriously! How cool is that? And its not like i'm a 4th year student either! I can't shake the feeling that if tuition fees were lowered, student research money would disappear, club funding would vanish, buildings would be old and busted and no new equipment would be purchased. Then to top things off, we start protesting that things are old and busted (but we don't want to pay more to fix it).
The only thing that strikes me as unfair, is the bookstore. Books cost way too damn much. Putting out a new edition each year that has fixes things that should have been right the first time is stupid.
Honestly, the only movements that seems to have made a difference recently was the anti-SOPA stuff. However, who knows how successful that will be in the long run.
