So I'm probably most likely heading to UC Davis next year for Biomedical engineering!!

Things I should spend some time to try out?
Stuff to watch out for? O.o

Time management. This is very crucial. You want to learn how to balance your time. Even when you believe you have a lot of time, you'll get so caught up in many things that'll you end up with insufficient time. Try your best to budget your time accordingly - balancing both your academic and social life. If you have any issues, do take initiative to utilize the great resources your college offers - be it counselors, mentors, etc.

Things to try out depends on who you are. If you are curious on what to try out, just go around researching the clubs being offered. I'm sure your college will have a club fair. If any strike your interest, try going to one of their meetings or contacting the ones in charge for more info.

Watch out for alcohol, drugs, etc. Anything that will hurt you in the long run. Please practice moderation.

Other than that, college is a great experience.

Time management, of course. Focus on studying and prepare for class rather than partying and drinking. As long as you can balance your life out between school and personal stuff, you'll be okay.

Don't underestimate it by screwing up your grades. Once you mess up, you'll regret it because you can't amend them.

Don't worry, I won't. I am taking this class seriously. I am far behind on my life schedule, and gonna try to progress as fast as possible.

All I would say is don't be peer pressured into anything you don't want to do. I know I'm sounding like a parent, but a lot of University students claim they "could of done better" if they didn't drink the night before an exam.

Look into scholarships as well. The more money you can get towards your college expenses, the easier it will be to manage your money for rent, utilities, and other expenses.

guess wiki said it all. Uni is a lot of fun as long as you can manage your time well. If there is anything you would like to try out, now is the time.
Of course take a look at scholarship and other financial help possibilities, apply if you qualify.
I'm not sure how it works in the US, but in Europe we have something called Erasmus. Basically you can spend up to 1 year studying at a university in another country. Some of my friends used it and spent a year in finland, spain etc. Maybe your uni will have something similar?

Most US colleges/universities have study abroad programs that allow you to take classes in other countries for a semester or a year. It's a great experience for those who want to experience another culture.
