Wow it's kinda surprising to me to find out that I'm actually the only one who use BitDefender around here..

What defines you is how you react to disappointments.

If I say all of the above on one computer, do I win a virtual cookie.

Your computer would be pretty messed up if you had all those. Multiple anti-virus protection would go against each other, weakening the protection. It's like wearing two .. nvm ;)

Having all those would litterly make your PC a battleground where instead of virus VS Anti-Virus. It would be AV VS. AV and the Virus would sit back and be eating virtual popcorn watching the warzone.

my time has come.

Yea I know, if you had money to waste it would be interesting to see, and to spirited, depending on the situation, wearing two... can make a rave party interesting... You know what, forget I mentioned that, lolllolollo.

AVG is what I use on all of my machines. I accept no substitute. I wrote quite an exstensive post on this not too long back that shows my professional tests and results if anyone is interested in reading it.

MrPhantom said: Ok so let me throw some data at you guys! Antivirus can be rated in a couple categories:

1: Malware Cleanup
2: root kit Detection and removal ( theses can be independent of each other but I batched them for our purposes here)
3: Malware blocking
4: Free or paid versions

In my lab I set up about a dozen virtual machines with a proprietary monitoring software running. then i took the 4 viruses that include, key logger, Trojan, root kits and a fancy tdss, and I infected each machine with them. i checked my monitor to see what all was infected on each machine and then rated the ant viruses based on how well they did against detection, removal and blocking them completely. Ultimately you can decide for yourselves which works best for you but here are my top results for my tests.

---Free---
3: Avira--- missed some root kits infections and didn’t completely remove some it detected but did well in malware blocking and cleanup.
2: Panda Anti-Virus 1.5 free edition--- Highest rank in the malware removal test but was incomplete in removing them. fared well in the root kit sample detection and removal.
#1: AVG Free--- Highest performance in malware detection and removal and did very well in root kit and key logger detection and removal.

---Paid---
3: -Tie for 3rd- ZoneAlarm Antivirus +Firewall 2012 and BitDefender Plus--- Both did an excellent job with cleanup of anything detected however, detection rate was fairly low compared to 1 and 2. Its rating was increased based on the fact that it had a firewall and Phishing protection added. (nice features to have in an antivirus)

2: Norton Antivirus 2012--- (to be honest I was surprised at this result) Excellent exploit protection in all areas and did very well in root kit and tdss detection and removal.

3: Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus--- "Flawless Victory" in malware blocking and was only beat by Norton for removal of all infections. I rated this higher than Norton because most of us here would rate Virus Detection and excellent removal higher than great detection and perfect removal.

So there you have it in a nut shell. I would like to add that I have been an advocate for AVG free and have had it on all of my personal machines for about 7 years no and have never had an infection (unless I put it there myself) I would also like to note that just because yours was not listed here does not mean it’s no good, just means that it was either not tested YET(because there are quite a few) or because it did not fare as well in our tests.

I use the combined power of AVG Internet Security 2012 and Malwarebytes...and for an extra layer of protection, WinPatrol, which acts like Windows UAC but better...I use to have Bitdefender Total Security installed in my system but decided to terminate my subscription as it seem too harsh on the memory.

Mike was here...got to leave for work...be back sooon.

Kaspersky Pure! i think its great althought takes a lot of memory when scanning and doing things but still i think its absolutely legitimately 99% protection\

BUT i was curious about the norton 360 so i checked it up and compare kaspersky MAN i'd say norton has a lot more features than kaspersky and aslo the price

When nothing goes right.... go left
