thanks a lot :)
thanks a lot :)
The X51 is a beast! but if you want to really get 100% maxed out then you should build your own rig. Check out www.newegg.com They have all the parts you need!

the X51 can play BF3 at high settings with around 40 fps but that depends on how you customize it. On ultra i'm sure you could get around 20FPS which isn't that bad but if you really want the ultimate performance just build a rig. The X51 is meant for people just getting into gaming or for people who don't have much space that's why its so compact. If you decide to build a rig just let me know ill help you out!

i have a ps3 which i play all the latest games on, i am really into gaming already, but i want to get into the pc side as its much more diverse, oh and graphics mean a LOT to me, thanks for any help you can give me and the help so far. and the X51, i would customize to full specs or as much as it can handle. is 20 fps good enough or is it laggy?
If you are going for a laptop I would get the M17x But I don't really know anything about the desktop section of Alienware.
20 FPS is a bit laggy but playable i usually hit 30FPS on my rig which is perfect if you fully trick out the X51 you should get at LEAST 30 fps on ultra but again i really recommend building your own computer you get a lot more bang for your buck.

Are you ok with building a rig by yourself? It's not very hard but if you have never done it before and prefer not to, i'll search for some UK online stores with custom desktops. It will be more expensive than building the rig by yourself, but cheaper than getting a new AW desktop.
X51 is fine and will play every game on high, but like Danny said, not ultra. I find 20fps way too slow for FPS. It may be ok for other games but for shooters you want your fps above 30 at all times. Any dip below 30fps feels laggy (to me at least)

not off the top of my head, but i'll have a look and give you a link here, if i find something
X51 will not give you what you are looking for. BF3 will run about med-high, not ultra. In order to run ultra, you will need a machine with a GTX580 or higher and an SLI machine is preferred.
You are better off with the Aurora R4 or building your own.

Cyberpower
These 2 seem to have some good reviews. Both UK based. Do you have any kind of budget? This way we could suggest a god setup. And if so, would that budget include monitor and peripherials or would it be just for the computer?

i am open for anything at this point, im not an expert at all, i know the basics of building a pc, but i wouldn't know what would be the best parts or compatibility.
thanks very much for your help :)
budge of around 1000 pounds

it is all about the power of the desktop not the looks or size, i just want it for power basically.
ok, that 1000 pounds is for the desktop+monitor+keyboard+mouse? Or only desktop?
