aggressive support or passive support?
i like playing janna but i watched some tourneys and teams run really aggressive supports, i'm wondering if there is a big change in the meta to play less healy supports.
i play aggressive support basically, you gotta help your ad carry as much as you can to deal dmg and other stuff
I just had aggressive support shaco on my lane. Infact he was so agrresive he stole jungle from our jungler, my creeps and all the kills aswell ;P
I wouldn't say that there has been a change in the meta. Players are just now starting to realize that aggressive supports have their place. Riot nerfing Sona also helped people to discover other viable supports, since she fell out of favor.
I hate how most people think that bot requires soraka/sona/taric/janna. Why not some nuker, ad will farm, their ad carry won't be able to run around so freely because you are 2 dmgers in lane and support can't do that much sometimes. Just saying, I like agressive better.
Through all the differences it is still perfection.

Pantheon, I find that its not so much support, but playing as an AD/off tank, whatever but i dont take CS, and I keep a wide zone
Depends on your lane and the AD. The person I play with prefers passive so I just sit back keep him alive and harass when support or AD heals/
I think its really just personal preference and who you are playing with, just depends on your play style, your partners and the other teams in some cases
It all depends on your comp and your lane partner. if you have a Vayne, Graves, or Trist for instance you can (and in my opinion should) play aggressively because you can capitalize on their abilities. However if you have something like a Kog or Caitlyn then you should basically play more passively and just protect your carry so they can farm as much as humanly possible. This is because they need that farm to be deadly late game and they are not as reliable on getting in early agression. This being said if the other pair makes a mistake, then by all means make them pay for it. If you keep higher goals in your mind than just 'I wanna hit them' you'll come out in a better spot. Hope this was helpful

Most rank players do the same thing in every game though. If you try to add a character which isn't normally played, someone backs out.

You said it
aggressive support just seems better
keep em away from xp and gold
Janna is an agressive support,so long as u can hit ur q and time your sheild when ur ad carry wants to poke your alright...
I prefer pssive supporters when i carry though. I love to farm hard and be 2 or 3 items ahead in midgame as ashe with a 13 maxed hawkshot for the gold bonus...

I play sona, almost always play aggressive, but if you do not have the match up then you need to learn to play passive.
