K2, not political, simply minded answers if possible

I saw this on the news, their is a new drug, granted its been arond awhile, but they called it new. Anyway, its called K2 and it seems to be just fake weed that at this point in time legal. Basically the report rambled on then concluded with, should they make this to illegal or just make weed legal, and regulate it like tobacco and tax it. Do you agree with this line of thinking. If this seems to be to political just say so as your response, and just let this thread not be responded.

I've never liked politics things can get messy in that field and qiuck. But for me being asmetic I stay away from all the smoke and glad it is illegal for others like me.
So If that stuff can effect my asthma then it would be nice for it to also be illegal. But only if it becomes mass producted like real weed.

What is the point of this drug? What benefits does it give to our society?
In texas its already illegal

I never thought of weed as benefits from the start just a drug that people miss use.

All right I looked up K2. It is what FoxxM says. It's just imitation weed. Just like you, I don't see any benefits from weed either. This drug just seems to be a loophole to justify smoking weed. Regardless, if a drug gives no real benefits to our society, such as curing or treating diseases or illnesses, then I don't think they should ever be sold. However, if people want this stuff, they have the right to as long as it doesn't harm others.

agreed. No harm no foul.
As far as benefits for weed, there are some cancer patients that use it to help them through chemo. Most drugs have benefits, unfortunately many of them have the chance to create high physical and mental dependency.
I believe that marijuana should be legalized, regulated, and taxed like tobacco. This would solve many money problems in tax revenue for many states.
It would also cut out dealers. Lessen criminal activity. Keep more people out of jail/prison. Businesses would have to make adjustments in policies and procedures. I don't agree with using on the job or before work.
I know that there are plenty of people who don't agree and that is fine with me. This is my opinion and thoughts on the subject. I think it would solve more problems than it would create.

it would make more problems in my opinion. For one and I say again asmetic people like me would be in the hospital all the time from that smoke. Then with how many people smoking it would pollute the air(Not to sound like a hippy) But I like the smell of fresh clean air not smog. And people who work would be too High to do there jobs causing many work related issues. And so on... Just my opinion as well
I did a bit of research on this, (I don't touch drugs myself, or even drink..but was curious) and it seems there is some misconceptions about K2. One, it is not 'all natural'. It is a mixture of natural herbs and such yes, but then it is sprayed with chemicals to produce this euphporic effect. Over-use however, can lead to heart rate increasing to the point of palpatation, vomiting, hallucinations and other negative potentially life-threatening side effects.
I just don't get it, I suppose. Why do people have to go so out of their way to just F' up their brain? You, me, everyone has a natural ability built right in to feel euphoria, happiness, joy, love, sexual desires...everything these chemicals are trying so hard to reproduce. If one wants these feelings, I can think of nothing better than to come by them naturally. It is 100% safe, totally unregulated and good for you!
Flat out, going to any kind of drug will always have negative outcomes, usually sooner than later. The 'hook' is that first-timers love the artifical feeling so much, they can and have, spend the rest of their lives searching for that ever-elusive 'first-high' feeling, and never getting it again.
Not to mention the legalities, broken homes, financial woes, broken families, the health of the individual, sometimes even death :(
I am not talking about weed for someone who is a cancer patient or something. Gawd please, I am not trying to offer symnatics to argue drug use. If something like weed is beneficial to those individuals, I have no personal issue with that.
I guess my bottom-line point is life offers the greatest highs you can get. They are free, definitely worth repeating and unlike drugs, you CAN experience that first-time feeling again and again.:)

Well, i am against creating Such things as k2 or other weed substitutes. However, weed itself should be legalized. Speaking from an economical point of view, legalizing it is the only way to go, its not an opiniom, its a fact. Like wilby said, legal weed would be regulated and taxed, thus would be a source of income for the government. Right now it is mafia who profits from weed.
2nd point: legal marihuana would reduce the grey area for soft drugs. This means more jobs in the weed business.
Do not be against it because of astmatic people etc. What about cigarette smoke? Makes astma worst as well. Regulating weed also means allowing to smoke it in certain places. Not on the streets. So there is no harm to others, and btw cigarettes are more harmfull than weed.
Anyways, take a look at the netherlands. Lowest drugs problem in europe with weed legal. Their parlament is working on restricting weed which is stupid. Many coffee shop owners already refused to obey the law, should marihuana be de-legalized.
Finally, how Many deaths have we seen as a result of cigarette smoking? Too many. How many deaths, abuse has happened as a result of alcohol addiction?
Everything in excess is bad for us. Legalizing marihuana wont change much for the society. We already have some legal soft drugs which, if abused, may destroy many lives.
Bottom line: legalize it, dont abuse it.

The problem with this mentality is where do you draw the line? If you legalize one drug, on which drug do you stop? Would it be best to just legalize all drugs and hope that people never abuse it? You can't always rely on the public to follow the rules.
It is true that drugs may have many economic benefits. But the more important issue is societal impact. Just doesn't appear good for society to have even more legal drugs with no beneficial purposes.

That is very true. Legalizing weed would encourage people to try and get other soft drugs legalized... It's a very hard subject. On one hand, legalization is economically benefitial and can promise better quality product because it would be controlled. Also cigarettes are more harmful than marihuana.
On the other hand weed is very often the first step to harder drugs. Many people stop at smoking weed at college. But many take it a step further and after experiments with marihuana, move onto other stuff...
If i would have to give my vote, i'd be for legalizing, but it surely is not white and black. There are many risks and possibly legalizing would be a bad choice at the end...
