When it comes to any type of updates that have been released by a well known company(ie. an alienware update)it is always recommended that you do update what ever program they are offering an update for .

Hey Ryan:)
I have yet to update my command center as I have not had any issues with my command center...lol
I usually set my updates on automatic, though. Not sure if that is an option for the command center. Until then, I really don't bother hunting thru my programs for updates unless I start to see an issue.

I actually do have a real life, I just don't remember what the password to it is...

Command Center can be tricky. If the update isn't done right, it can cause some problems. If Command Center is working, I wouldn't update it unless you are very confident you can do it successfully.

Does a GPU update cause issues? or can it? I'm going to possibly be upgrading my GPU soon and that's one of my worries.

GPU driver updates are typically harmless. If possible you want certified drivers that come from your system manufacturer. If you want to try uncertified drivers, get them from the chipset or card vendor. Windows drivers through Windows update should always be a last resort. Having a recent save point in Windows restore isn't a bad idea if things don't turn out the way you planned.

GPU bios updates on the other hand shouldn't be attempted unless you know what you are doing since they can affect the functionality of your card in a very bad way.

Usually they are rare and usually reserved for a card that has problems or was released with a feature or two disabled due to a glitch of some kind.
