Page 1 of 2 1 2
I got some screenies for you guys to give an impression what the game looks like! The game was only laggy the first couple of hours after that it ran smooth on my M14x with specs listed on my profile on ''High'' settings.

That would be the Shadow Behemoth, he appears after a small series of events. I got revived and beat the crap out of him later on and he dropped the big chest with loot in the other screenshot :).

The screenshot doesnt do him justice, he is so much bigger than your screen and he's only a level 15 boss mind you. :P

I cannot wait until I build my rig... this may be the first game I buy to play on it.

I highly recommend this game, not from a loyal to ArenaNet standpoint but because this game offers gameplay like you've never experienced it before.

One thing to note is that this game is hard, as in difficulty hard. You will go down on the very first event(quest) this is a big positive thing as many games today have the difficulty of pony's in fantasybarbieland with bunnys bopping around in lushy fields.

No monthly fee, only need to purchase the game itself (I got the Pre-Purchase Digital Deluxe Edition giving me some ingame goodies). Once you bought the game it'll be F2P with the exception of having to buy the expansion packs.

Speaking of expansion packs, the original release is a beast on it's own and the expansion wich will most likely feature the continents of Cantha and Elona (Asia & Africa themed) and from my experiences in the original Guild Wars those are some kicks ass continents!

Like I said, gameplay is very different as you can no longer stand still and take damage as you need to use your dodge ability to avoid those big hits.
It's very dynamic and fast paced especially the profession (class) The Elementalist which I mostly played during the beta.

^I'm getting both games, i'm only waiting for D3 to go on sale. If you buy the game you are assigned a keycode which you use for the game but also grants you an account to post with on the official forums. People (including me) are heavily suffering from Post beta depression, this game is highly addictive.

I can give you a few quotes from the official forums:

I caught myself dodge-rolling to avoid the alarm clock.....
It didn't work...at all....

I'm trying to forget the weekend, like it was all just a dream! and back to my regular gaming of dota2, but its not helping.... I want to finish my opponent with my slow-mo stomping fist!!!!

Hello all (stands up), I'm ***** and I'm a GW2 addict!! I'm in need of a permanent fix as I'm clucking really badly and only arenanet can help with my withdrawals.

Can't even imagine waiting 3 [censored] WEEKS to play again.

.. I has a sad =(

Everytime you complete a major event you are rewarded karma, which you use for items and gear. I didn't know this at first but got in time before the end to buy a part of the Norn set (The skull armor in the screenshot). Also no need to walk back to accept your quest rewards as it's mailed to you in your inbox :).

When you create a character you create a personal story and you can pick for example your history which features unknown parents, dead sister or never joined the circus (for Humans). I picked the circus story line and I can tell you it wasn't a joke, I highly enjoyed my personal story up to level 20 where it ended in the beta version even with a silly background story like i'm an Elementalist Nobleman who has enough wealth but passed up his oppurtunity to join the circus.

This is a game worth buying, I had a great time and so did everyone else I met during the beta :).

Beta weekend was fun but on my crappy rig, the game was very difficult to play with lag. ArenaNet said the game wasn't optimized so I'm hoping the next event would implement that.

I'm still going to roll as a Charr Necro... although I wasn't pleased with what they did to the Necro.
