No more need to go to the store! But, I dont think its purified to be drinkable, you have to buy a filter or purifier for it if you want to drink it, i think :)

Just now it costs between €500,000 ($660,000) and €600,000 ($790,000) depending on the location and surrounding conditions to install just one Eole Water turbine.Love the idea and everything but with that price abu dhabi is going to be only place that can afford one.

Yes well, if you think about it, how much do you spend on water every year? Count that up until at least 70 years of life and you will see the profit of buying this! ^^
Here is an average saving if you buy this thing.
$308(How much you spend a year on water, one person) * 70(Years you have left to live, not really, just an example xD) = $21,600 spent on water for 70 years. Lets not forget you can use this for tap water too! There isn't a lot of saving when buying this for yourself but, when you use it for a larger population, maybe a town or small city, there IS profit!
Up to 1000 liters per day! Thats like 1% of what the world drinks daily! Which is alot!

I actually do have a real life, I just don't remember what the password to it is...
:D

Wind turbines normally last bit more than 20 years.kermanius said:Just now it costs between ?500,000 ($660,000) and ?600,000 ($790,000) depending on the location and surrounding conditions to install just one Eole Water turbine.Love the idea and everything but with that price abu dhabi is going to be only place that can afford one.

m3 of cold water costs 2 euros in here so liter of water is 0,2 euro cents. And thats the expensive city water supply.
Dno how it is with these turbines exactly but wind turbines used for electricity last for 20 +some years and for newest turbines maintanace costs 2% of the original cost. Lets say its about the same and it never ever breaks down and needs new parts or repairs and last 25 years.
So 1000 liters per day max (as it said in article) for 25 years totals 9 125 000 liters.
Cost meanwhile 500 000 original cost + 250 000 for maintanance over the years 750 000 euros.
750 000 euros/9 125 000 = 8,2 euro cents per liter which is ca 40 times as much as i currently pay. And thats the good scenario where you use every liter of water which is never gonna happen :P So basicly it is far from saving anything. Only viable in remote places where they got no normal water supply to use.
