Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

No the 6990m got a score of P3555 and the 580m got a score of P3439. So the 6990m is slightly faster. What is impressive is the 7970m score of P6847.
EDIT: Here is a clear list of 3D Mark Scores in order of performance...

Makes you wonder why the GTX675m is more expensive than the HD7970m. Of course we still have to see the gaming results on all these cards but the 7970m is obviously faster.
hmm that's why im planning to upgrade my GPU to 6870 - 7970m hmm or im planing the oldway 6870 to 6990m hmm what do you thinks is the best?

Impressive. 7970 is almost 2x faster than GTX675:P
Ryan, i would definately go for 7970m if you can afford it... Of course gaming performance may differ from these results but 7970m will surely perform the best by far.

Well, it might be because the 675 test was running at 1080, whereas the 7970 test was running at 1280 :)

Sounds to me that either Nvidia is planning to release a 680m sometime nearer the end of this year or that they will wait until the 7 series to release their flagship mobile solution. Ultimately though, the 675m wins for the M18x R2 since that's the best SLi option available for the current model. Maybe a crossfie 7970 is in the works for the M18x?
M18x R1 w/ATI Crossfire 6990's. Area-51 X58 w/Nvidia 560Ti SLi
