any members face problem on SSD on Aurora R4?
Hi,
My Aurora R4 delivered with x2 Seagate 1tb HHD.
I have purchased Intel 240GB SERies 520 SATA3 SSD INT 2.5" and removed raid setting and also x2 HHD. Done clean setup of Win 7 as well as necessary drivers from Dell support website for this R4.
Problem: This SSD has problem to go to win 7 login screen after few restart/reboot. Win 7 has serious errors such as cache dump issues etc and forced to restart again and again without able to go to win 7 login screen (where we input Password). I have reinstalled win 7 twice and have same problems again.
Possible that this SSD is faulty or Intel 520 serise SSD is not good match with Dell driver/motherboard ?

Hi SkiRascal thanks for your help ;D
I managed to resolve it by reinstall Win 7 Pro again (5th attempt) and managed to resolve it by installing the latest drivers from Dell website.
Now, another problem. Tested the Intel 520 series SSD and found the max read/write speed only 240MB/s . This is SATA 3 SSD and it seem I only managed to run it at SATA 2.
I have installed HDD SATA cable from R4 motherboard directly to this SSD.
Now, wonder why it is not running at SATA3 .
Does Aurora R4 (2012 model) support SATA 3 SSD/HDD ?
Any members faced same problem and managed to resolve it ?

Hey Tabby. I see no reason why Aurora R4 would not run what you are trying to get. Sata 3 simply is transfering data at 3x the speed per spec of Sata-IO per 6GB, yes? This is setup with either HDD or SSD, respectably.
Perhaps it is an interface issue? Sounds like a driver thing to me *_0

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

there are 2 SATA3 ports on the Aurora R4 so make sure you are plugged into the right ones...
Hi SkiRascal, Ryan and Mav711 big thanks ;D
I have checked with dell and plug this SSD to R4's HDD SATA Port 1 which is SATA3. R4's HDD port 1 & 2 are SATA3 and last two ports are SATA 2.
Now my Intel 520 series SSD running at SATA 3 Speel - nice (^^).
Got a Problem.. alienware command center having some error. Sometimes, it will not display Sensor and fans RPM properly as well as unable to change the Led Color. Has tried to remove and install latest driver again - it seem unstable.
Will R4 runs into problem if alienware command center screwed up (eg: CPU Pump fail, Temper reach dangerous level )?
