Alienware Area-51 X58 PSU upgrade headache!

In my attempt to give my Alienware Area-51 X58 (R6) a little bit of power breathing room for future gpus, i've decided to upgrade. To make things easier (and to prevent myself from having to dismantle the entire case) i've decided to go with a used Alienware 1000 or more watt psu. Here's the enormous headache that i've discovered:

1. Dell uses a proprietary wire harness on both my power supply (750w NPS-750AB) and the G821T (1100W NPS-1100BB)

2. The NPS-1000AB is also claimed to be used by Alienware as a 1000w power supply but is not a dell "modular" proprietary power supply instead it cannot be changed out like the NPS-750 and NPS-1100 can.

3. This wire harness was found on ebay for the G821T aka NPS-1100BB. It matches the wire harness for the NPS-750AB

I've already ordered the PSU but i'll return it if it doesn't work right but the little evidence i'm able to gather suggests that it should work fine. I see that there is a difference in the number of sata power cables as well as the 6+2pin PCI-e cables. However I don't think either of those should be an issue considering the power supply just won't have to supply power to those connectors. I've done as much research as is possible but this is as much as i'm able to find. What do you think?
