GTX 690 Reviews

Reviews are rolling out so I thought I would share a couple...

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-690-benchmark,3193-15.html
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-690-review/

At stock clocks it's around 6 frames per second behind 680s in SLI at 1920x1080 and it pretty well matches the 680s at really high resolutions.

$999?! That is insane.

What surprises me the most from those reviews is that HD7970 CrossFire turns out to be quite significantly better than GTX680 SLi...
Anyway, that GTX690 is the sexiest looking card I've seen

Here is the Newegg Review...
nvidia should be more reasonable on the price

Well I know a lot gets invested into new architecture but I do agree. With the projected price being $999...I see $1199 on Newegg. WTH man?
The projected price of the HD7990 is supposed to be around $750...but we will have to wait to see if it is faster or slower.

Not really; it is priced very accordingly. A single GTX 680 costs about $500, and this is quite literally two GTX 680 GPUs in one card, so $999 is a pretty exact price, and this way it makes SLI-ing of four GTX 680s much easier.

The interesting thing is that the TDP per GTX690 is 300w(according to the video^^) and it is suggested that you could probably get away with running two of these on as little as an 850w PSU...but I would still recommend a 1000w. I guess time will tell...
I am literally having to reprogram my brain for these newer generation GPUs being so power efficient man. For the amount of performance you are getting...it's incredible how little power they actually use.
what a cheap card, ill take 2 please =)
This defaintly seems like a rip off with the price.

Well then buy two GTX 680s instead :)
Whether the card is worth the money depends on person and the circumstance in my opinion. If you have a gaming rig that can run this card and are due for an upgrade, then this will likely be the last GPU you have to buy. And it's still cheaper than buying a new rig...or building a new rig. At least one that would match it's performance...because in order to do that you would have to have a card like this.
By the time you would need another GPU upgrade due to this thing not being fast enough it will be time for an entirely new rig anyway as the rest of your rig's components will be outdated. I think I will hold off for a little while, but before the next gen is released I will likely be running an HD7990 in mine. That will be the last GPU I plan to buy for this computer. And it should carry my rig through another three years of gaming.

Once I have to upgrad again im moving to the xbox console then, lol. Think about it, I love the PC but man we spend some money on them when xbox and PS3 picture is just as good and even better. I just played bf3 on HD on my 60" LED using my sons xbox 360 and the picture is 10 times better than the PC system I have hahhahhaha, aint that something :)
Heresy!!! We should have you excommunicated!!!
