So it was announced that there will be an MMO for the Elder Scrolls which will be released next year. The rumors about this project which have been around for a bit were actually true.

Before people start crying about a Fallout game just remember that Bethesda only officially announces a game a year before they release it (if it is a big title). That being said, BGS studios, possibly one of the best development studios out there, hasn't been linked to any current games being developed so they might be working on the next Fallout. I would not be surprised if they announce the next Fallout installment a year from now to be released in 2014. They were hiring for a future generation game programer so it is possible for the next Fallout to be on the next console.

Nice competition vs Guild Wars 2, if couldn't imagine one single studio competing on that level vs ArenaNet but Bethesda with the Elder Scrolls series definatly turn on the heat.
Morrowind was actually the game that I played before Guild Wars and I was sad that I couldnt play TES games online.

I hate to say it, but I think it's a bad idea. The Elder Scrolls have been all about single player experience, and to make it a decent MMO, they'll have to put various MMO elements to it, which means omitting the feel of The Elder Scrolls series...

Not surprised to say the least, but still very awesome.
I don't mind seeing how this will go. Might actually be good.
Cool I would love to try an open beta or something
This will be awesome... IF Bethesda does it right!!! I am a huge fan of Bethesda; after Valve they are my favourite game developers. However, the charm of the Elder Scrolls is the strong, single player story line, so I'm a bit nervous about how they will do with this.
But I'm keeping my fingers crossed and confess myself extremely excited to see the progression of this game!

As long as they keep the adult themed element that the Elder Scroll series offered then I will be happy. I've always thought about how it would be if they decided to go the MMO route, and if they release it next year as slated then I will be extremely happy to buy it.

It's true, TES has always been about single player so i'm curious how it turns out.
I'm also wondering what continent it will feature or perhaps it'll be the entire map?

I think they let you go around the entire Tamriel. It I would like to see what they do with some of the continents outside of Tamriel or at least introduce creatures/bosses from those places.
as long as it is still the same first person combat this should be fun
