Reformatting is not maintenance... Its starting over and, should be used as a last resort. There really shouldnt ever be a need to reformat. If you do regular backups, you should at the very most do a restore not a reformat. I have computers that are 10 years old that have never been reformated.

I do that once in a while, when the computer starts to slow down, yeah I just format it and redownload everything, which isn't a long process. A days worth of work at most. But not once every year, that's a bit too much

I only do it if I experience annoying issues that can't be fixed, slow downs, too many uninstalls/installs and it's affecting windows, etc.

Well almost everything is fixable. Sometimes tho format is easier. Also windows goes "bad" after couple of years so then you need to do it if you want it to be fast :P

When I first owned a computer, I somehow needed to re-format about once a week..LOL~
Naa, I don't reformat. But I do regular maintence once a week of wiping the free drive space and do regular back-ups.

I actually do have a real life, I just don't remember what the password to it is...

To be honest I never reformat my old comptuer since 2005 I don't see why you want reformat for little issue over about speed. I suggest leave the way it is so if you don't have any problem it just leave it. My old computer run great so there is no point for reformat it.

I am pretty pickey about what goes on my machine, which makes for my machine running in tip-top shape for a long time. :) Also, just keeping os and programs on c drive helps out too. However, I moved my most frequently used docs to my ssd and the hardley used to my 2nd drive.
