Battlefield 3
M18x battlefield 3 crashing
When I start a game, it crashes in about 5 minutes. A few tries later, it crashes in like an hour or so but it is very annoying. I cant update my video driver because i am on a laptop, so i need dell to get the driver on their site. Is there any way to fix the crashing? it has been going on since the first day i got bf3
uhmm yea you can, there are drivers for your graphics, just check for it
where? my dad says to only download the drivers from dell, because i am on a laptop
yea, there's a new driver for Nvidia graphics card !
do u have a link for it because i cant find it
Well, first you need to know what kind/model of Graphics Card you have, and look up on the Manufacturere's website for the latest drivers for it. O.o
I always set a System Restore point before updating drivers for my GPU, if only because Im an idiot and 2 out of 3 tie, it f*cks up everything. XD

Try running in compatibility mode and as administrator. Check all your drivers and use CPU Z or MSI Afterburner to check theirs nothing wrong with your hardware (weird temps etc.)
this may or may not sound stupid, but how do u run in combatability mode
try this first. had another user with a similar issue:

Ok, on your machine go to start --> type msconfig in the box and hit enter. You should see a configuration box that shows up that is like the two images I linked you too.
First, click the start-up tab and then select disable all. Hit apply. Then click the services tab, BE SURE TO SELECT HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES. I can't stress the importance of this. If you don't, it will render your OS unbootable. Once you check that, then you can select to disable all. Hit apply, then ok and then reboot your machine. Play bf3 and see what happens.
We can start from there. To undo all that, it's pretty much the same thing, except enable all. When ever messing in the Services tab, be sure to always check the "hide microsoft services option", whether you disable or enable. Let me know how it goes.
