edit: FOR THE RECORD i DON'T HATE PC GAMING, JUST SOMETIMES :) It's just a rant, I'm sure you all have been there before.

BF3 has been rocking pretty good since the inital release and my brand new clean machine. Now since patches, updates, installed programs (only a couple mind you) and now bf3 crashes when I play. What makes it worse is when I have a great round and my k/d ratio is greater than 1 and the darn game crashes. I try to go back in and my stats are set to 0/0 again and I lost everything I had games. Sometimes it keeps it i think but more often than not gone. That's what makes Xbox so great. You buy a
disk, one hardware platform and rarely crashes, if ever at all. makes me hate pc gaming and pc's. At least bf2 kept your stats ifyou ever you ever got kicked out due to an app crash.

Ok, i vented, now back to the battlefield so something can go wrong again.

well this rant is kind of showing how little you know of computers and software(no offense)

Ever try of talking with tech support and try to find your issue and get it resolved??

Did you try to contact support from the game?
ill be a little honest here, you hate pc gaming because of one issue with a game? Isn't that kind of unfair and rash on your point? Console has their own problems too...for god sake ps3 was down for months, 360 cannot compare to the pc hardware and visuals when it comes to gaming..
To me after I got my mx17 my 360 and ps3 have not been touched...it doesn't mean I hate them...

exactly but pc gamming isnt for everyone. they do need alot of tlc thats why i love them always tinkering

It was just a rant, that's all :) I still like pc's and pc gaming. That's why I cringe everytime there is an update, install of h/w or s/w. Trust, me I know alot but I don't know everything.

It could be a bf 3 patch.
It could be the stupid crysis game I installed that messed with the driver or .net framework.
Could be a simple windows update.

See where I'm getting at here...

I never said xbox looked better, just less issues. Yes, i remember when ps3 network was down and xbox red ring of death issues. but at least those are limited to one thing. With pc, it's such an open format, which leads to more issues and more troubleshooting when things go wrong. I don't have time to troubleshoot my own pc, I do that enough already.

If I call EA tech support, alot of the times the answer is always, it's there fault or did you uninstall/install the game, which is the answer to everything.

It's probably an application that may be running in the background that is conflicting because for most games to run properly you need to close all your background tasks, blah blah. Why can't we just play when we want to play and not deal with all these other issues.

The best part when you buy a pc game is, you bring it home, depending on how new it is, you need to ask yourself, should i update the GPU driver. Ok, no, time to install the game..oh wait, now i have to install the patch too because I waited a month.

Well, i still bought BF3 premium.....

btw- hate was too strong a word, should have said disliked at times.

you said it right holy, they do need TLC.

i have those moments also i went through and tried the 12.4 amd drivers. they worked finally but wouldnt work with battlefield. the reason is since i went eyefinity ive had random lockups so i thought ill give it yet another try to update, the first few times i had bluescreens half way through the install had to do 2 systme trestores back to back i think im gonna just stick with 12.1 for now

I have to agree with kinglonewolf, just because you face some problem and can't solve it due to your ignorance now you rant stating that PC gaming itself sucks? and what a place you have chosen to say that! bravo

@holyguy - yeah, i hate issues like those. Mine was perfect until some bf3 updates and probably windows updates. I don't like messing with GPU drivers other than the first one because something "always" get's flaky. Although, sometimes, when you do update the GPU driver, it does help "refresh" things. At least now when I get my 680, i won't worry about swapping out my 580 now and having problems.

@adityajlafjds89 = It's just a matter of opinion and I was fustrated at the moment. I chose to say here because I'm sure as PC gamers yourselves, you can feel my pain or have sure gone through the same stuff. You all know they need TLC and we all get pissed when we have a rockin game and it just crashes. Or wondering why in hell someone killed you from way across the pond, while you were covered.. I wish I can edit that title to more like sometimes. Solve it due to my ignorance??? I don't think so.

@define= for sure! PC graphics are wonderful and bf3 is beautiful.

I think some people miss the point of this post and haven't been in the gaming/pc industry long enough. I mean, don't you just sometimes get tired of something just not working. Like, why can't something just work. Don't get me wrong, i still love PC's and I will probably do some troubleshooting to it but I will probably wait until I get my new card. I do this for a living and the last thing I want to do when I get home is to fix my own pc, that's why I like to keep it in pristine shape and get real picky with installed programs. I'm actually taking a plung and using the AW software on my pc when it goes beyond my normal means and against my practices of installing crap because it's so cool!

Forgot to answer this. No it's not based on 1 games. I have been in pc's for over 10 years and gaming since I was a kid, but PC gaming probably about 8 years, so I'm not basing it of of 1 game, but over years and years.

Plus, I go back and forth too. BF2 took alot of time away from ps and xbox and bf3 is doing that again :) when i got tired of bf2 i went back to ps and xbox with the occasional awesome pc game like doom , crysis and sims.

Believe me, I'm all about contacting tech support because they can't fix a problem if they don't know it exists. but don't you ever just "not" want to contact tech support? just saying.

Ya but only computer tech support that use 3rd world countries like dell, hp, etc

I never have issue with EA, XBox, Trion, etc

Nivek, no worries on your frustrations. They are valid because YOU are getting the crashes and I see no need to belittle you for that. How computer savvy you are doesn't take away from the facts. The best we can do here is trouble-shoot and help each other out ^_^
I rarely if ever have crashes but I run an extremely clean system. I do not fix what is not broken, nor do I play around with settings or do much tweaking to turbo-boost my pc. Why would I need to? Every game I have runs close to 70 fps at minimum for God's sake! lol~
But I know not everyone has the GPU or memory or whatever to get this, so they wish to either oc the card, or squeeze as much performance as they can on systems that really need some updating to keep up with whats new out there. Understandable, to say the least.
If your getting crashes, but no one else is getting the crashes, then obviously the problem is not the game software. Some of the best solutions are the simpliest ones. (Remember in Sling Blade when Carl simply points out the lawn-mower is out of gas and not broken?) I usually use a back door approach to helping folks trouble-shoot. Printer not working? First step, make sure it is plugged in..lol
The only thing that frustrates me personally is if someone who does not really know what they are doing starts goobering with their pc... because either they think they will squeeze out an extra 10 fps on a game that is already getting 100 fps, or start modifying hardware like a mad scientist, or getting into the BIOS and trashing it, THEN coming in here to say, "My computer sucks! Look what it did when I did this!" So someone here trouble-shoots, helps them fix it, and two days later they are back with a new issue because they did something else bone-headed.
Anyway, bottom line is your crashes sound more due to something being incompatable software-wise. Could be GPU, but I don't think so from your description. You never mentioned freezing, just the game crashing/restarting.
Think back on the latest updates recently made and roll back. If it is a game update, make sure all your drivers are up to date for the sake of compatibility.
