StarCraft II
M17x r4 , starcraft 2, FPS is around 20 to 30
I have a M17x r4, I do not test with any game but only starcraft 2. And with maxed out setting, The FPS is only 20 to 30. My graphic card is 660M, core i7 3820 qm , ram 8g, hard drive 1t5. please help me to fix this. I think if i test with heavier game like BTF 3 , things would be worse than. Ndivia says with 660m, The fps of SC 2 is 135???
well, its not the ram, u can try lower the settings or get a new gpu :) thats the problem i faced once upon a day
if so , is $3000 can not even help SC 2 run well, and what Ndivia say on their website is just for jokking? i get so disapoited with alienware. i will buy BTF 3 then test it, if it does not run well either , then I must call dell for a replace one.
It sounds like you are using the integrated card instead of the 660M. You should definetly be getting better FPS than that.
I believe on the NVIDIA cards, it should switch automatically. Perhaps it is not switching properly.

Also, update your drivers.

thx icicle29, now Fps come to 60, and its seems pretty smooth, but still does not reach the enquiry (135). ill buy BTF 3 then test it. let s see how is this laptop going with others game
If it stays at a constant 60, you may have vsync on.
can you please tell me how to turn this off?

There should be some sort of setting in the game that says vsync or something like that. Make sure it is unchecked.
Edit: Under OPTIONS --> VIDEO There is a Vertical Sync setting. Make sure this is off.
OMG . everything now turn to 20 to 30 again. Even i uncheck vsync. So depress now. Everyone who know about these problem please tell me how to fix thix
I'm not familiar with that card, so I can't really help out more. You should post this in the hardware section...there are many much more informed people there.
do you have 2 video cards in there? I had a similar problem with Nvidia Optimus. It wouldn't use my nvidia card. It's fine now I just had to mess with the settings. also you should also look at your power settings
