Looking for a HDD upgrade should I go with a SSD?
So I am looking to get an upgraded HDD. I want to go with speed more than storage, looking at maybe a 128G SSD. Anyone have any recommendations of a good but fairly inexpensive one? Or should I just go with something else?
if your are looking for speed and not capacity a SSD is the best solution, now buying the cheapest SSD drive can became a Pain in the A**, cause first Generation SSD drives are the cheapest but they lack of an important specs, which is NATIVE TRIM, if not, after couple of months using it, it would be slower than a floppy drive xD.
You can google what TRIM technology on a SSD drive does.

SSD or Hybrid drive would be fine. Mainly for your OS to boot faster. Otherwise I'll take the space with decent speed anytime.
SLC SSD is the way to go for speed. Keep in mind though, the "speed" you are talking about is only in effect when you load stuff from your drive, and not when the application or game is running using memory. So, you'll see an increase in application launching, loading, documents, basically any 'read' action to the drive.
In my opinion the SSDs are to expensive for know to be used in a laptop... i would go for a hdd.
I went with dual intel x25-m 120Gb SSD's in RAID 0 for my laptop and ill never look back. SSD FTW!
i would say go HDD wait till all the bugs go away for the SSD's
as of right now HDD would be better
I recently went SSD as well and i will never go back. I would recommend going with a OCZ vertex 2 or agility drive, you can get one with around 100 gigs for around $200. I have been using the vertex 2 for about 4 months now however keep in mind that when the drive becomes more then half full speed is reduced dramatically.
go for two 60 gig SSD daisy chained together for the OS and for your favorite high end games (crysis 2 etc)then have conventional HDD for other stuff like itunes and other apps/media(I use raid 0)
