GUNNAR Optiks Beta Tester Program

Sever1ty's GUNNAR Optiks Paralex Lime Product Review

Page 1 of 3 1 2 3
Week 1:

My initial thoughts before using the glasses are that the glasses are very good, and that they do exactly what GUNNAR Optiks says they do. After seeing pretty much every gamer wear or test them at Major League Gaming in Washington D.C. 2010 I couldn't me any more convinced that the glasses do what they claim to do.

It took me only about ten minutes to get used to the color of the glasses and the slight magnification that they provide and to be honest, from then on when ever I put them back on it wasn't all that strange, my eyes got used to them pretty quickly.

Comfort-wise GUNNAR Optiks are very easy to get used to, they work with a headset on and overall are very comfortable. They are incredibly light, but stong, they are somewhat sturdy - they wobble, but that is intentional (more flexibility means they fit better to your face). They're made of high quality materials, including the plastic. The paint is great, very bright, doesn't reflect and doesn't chip.

I think that the style of GUNNAR Optiks is very interesting, it holds a very sleek, slim, yet strong design, and somehow they manage to fit just about everybody.

I've so far recorded an unboxing, I will edit that then I will upload it once this is all over, I will also post a video review following that. All will be in the YouTube channel provided in my signature.

My views for GUNNAR Optiks remain the same, however now, since I have used them for a little over a week I can actually support all of my initial thoughts.

I've been using my GUNNARS literally every time I sat in front of the computer, even when I was working, not just playing games.

My thoughts on the comfort an durability of GUNNARS are good. The glasses themselves are very comfortable and they fit, my face very well, I never take them off, not even during long gaming sessions.

Durability wise the glasses are very light, yet very strong they also sport a very flexible body to provide additional comfort.

I would definitely recommend GUNNAR Optiks to somebody, they do EXACTLY what they say they do; they improve reflexes in gaming, reduce eyestrain, etc, and without doubt they are worth every penny.

Anything worth having is worth working hard for.

Week 3 has come, and it's finally time for me to share my thoughts, here it goes! The product itself has been very helpful over the past 3 weeks, it reduced my eyestrain I usually got after sitting in front of the computer for hours (16+ hours, lol.).

Pros:

- Do what they say they do
- Very comfortable
- Great way to meet hardcore gamers
- Super light

Cons:

- Small
- Get dirty very fast
- Hard to clean
- Very vulnerable to scratches

Additional feedback: I definitely like the glasses, I enjoyed testing them, but if anything should be done I would love to see you offer an extra protective layer on the lenses that makes it easier to clean. I've got it on my prescription glasses, but I can't remember what it's called.

Closing thoughts: They're excellent glasses, they do what GUNNAR promises they do, they're an excellent gift, even necessity for every gamer.

Anything worth having is worth working hard for.

Man I love the Paralex Limes...those are awesome! I was just about sold on Darth's pair too. I'll wait until you guys finish the program before I make a decision. I really do like those though.

EDIT: Oh btw...nice review man.

These are really nice, what makes Paralex's and PPK's a worthy first choice is the price, they run you about 20 dollars less than the others. Personally I'll be interested in seeing which of all the glasses the community will favour, however I doubt many people will like these because I posted and not many people on here like me. It seems as if they do their best to avoid me. Lol.

Agreed. I hope you don't think I don't like you Sever1ty...there is the thing about the friend request I know, but that is some sort of glitch. We are already friends brother.

Anyway back on topic. I am going to wait until the reviews are all finished to make a decision. I agree with Rhino though...the Lime's are Snazzy! I may actually wind up with more than one pair after it's all said and done.

I may not end up with more than 1 pair but I wouldn't put it past myself to get 2 eventually. One of them being an RX pair. That one is gonna be the costly pair of the two.
