I don't know about you all, but I often find myself with extra time and nothing to do, I come to Alienware Arena in hopes of finding topics to which I can can contribute with positive feedback, or criticism, or even my opinion. Sadly, in the last few months I haven't quite had the same experience as I used to, now please understand that I am not speaking for the community, I am merely sharing my opinion, but...

Wouldn't it be great if everyone could start more discussion topics for everyone to post into?

I mean, General, Off-Topic, and Gaming sub-forums are filled with interesting posts, but we've all contributed what we could have and reviving old posts just isn't productive.

Think about it... Let's make this website a more pleasant experience for everyone.

I know what you mean. There are lots of interesting topics but I have already shared my thoughts on most of the ones that peak my interest. I do spend a lot of time in the hardware forums when there are topics to which I can contribute. But it seems for the most part that I can only give my opinion so many times on most topics before I wind up spending most of my time here just reading what everyone else has to say. And unless I wind up just getting into a conversation with someone on or in a thread...I just don't post the way I used to.

But hey...just when it seems that we have covered every topic under the sun someone will come up with something interesting. Though I have to say that some of the topics that pop up here and there are really grasping at straws...and out of left field. I like that you are pushing for more interesting topics. I would like to see more discussions here that arouse my interest and intellect. But what doesn't appeal to one appeals to others.

It would be nice but i just dont really come up with good topics i guess and feel like i would be spamming but since you want a topic ill see what i can think of.

Yeah, I've just noticed that not many veteran members post nearly as much as they used to. Anyway, I've tried the Hardware forums, but every time I get there I just feel dumb so I prefer to stay out.

You're not quite getting it, this isn't about me wanting a topic, what it's about however is additional forum topics, because all that happens is that people post post post but don't create their own so what you end up with is a forum filled with replies but nowhere to expend on anything else. Reason I am posting this is because after almost a year of the ARP system being up there's only so many topics.

Great point... where are the million members? I am pretty sure the most replies we've received so far was like 1000?

Lol, I see alot of recurring topics that have already been brought up discussed and discarded and so now there is no point to posting on them.

You're right man. There may be more than a million members but there has to be less than 1000 active or partially active. I'd say it's the top couple hundred that actually keep the site going. And even less than that may actually be here consistently.

Ah, I remember stumbling on this thread and forgot where it was. I'm curious on why it's in the North America section though. Our community ranges to many other regions as well :D

I think a lot of forums are like this. Topics here aren't really meant for long discussions. In addition, there are many members here who are not interested in topics of that kind. I try to give my input on as many topics as I can but there are many that I have no idea about or don't care about to want to comment on.

I would love for everyone to start more topics but eventually, there'll be too many topics to comment on. What I really would like to see is a topic that everyone has an opinion on and will actually give some thought to their posts instead of the typical "lol" or "i agree". But like all topics, any topic will eventually run out of thoughts and just die out. That's the nature of any thread.

Although the community could be better, I really have no problem with what it is now. The few consistent members who post here are more than enough for me to communicate with. I haven't had a bad experience here anyways. I do admit time to time the site is slow and quite boring due to lack of any topics. However, it's quite hard to keep it all interesting when all you can do on this site is post. I'm sure 90% of the members here rather do something else than just post on things. This is why I hope they really break out some new stuff to get things going.

I have this problem frequently too. There are a lot of topics which do not peak my interest or I just have no experience with. Online gaming is one of them...as much as that sucks I cannot really participate in most of those topics because my internet connection speed is just too slow to play online. I do read some of them but mostly have nothing to contribute so I just don't post. And then there are the others which I just don't care to comment in. I generally try to hang around the fun loving threads, technical threads and threads like this one.

I believe all of us in this thread here have had this conversation more than once and twice the past year. I'm getting tired of the repeated threads, old threads getting spammed up, and the no interest threads. When, the majority of us in this thread currently, first started getting these threads going, we had tons of great topics and discussions. I think we may have gone through the cycle of forum topics and ideas in the past 7 months or so, putting us in the bored position and only posting a few times a week if we're interested.

I do not think this belongs in the suggestion forum, Noobtubed. This is more a suggestion to the community members and not AWA employees themselves. There is nothing AWA employees or admins can do to cure our bored topics we create. lol.

It is getting harder to find interesting topics.

Im trying my best to introduce stimulating discussions, but there are so few people actively engaged in any topic that you have to say more than yay, or me too, or I agree, that its disappointing...

I just signed up yesterday but I'm already noticing that the max amount of registered members online is usually in the 5-10 range. Maybe I'm just getting on at weird times? I'll see what I can do in terms of interesting topics and content but I might be a little slow to start off until I understand the community a bit better. That being said, I'm also in the middle of moving from Canada to Japan. Maybe I can voice some of Japan's thoughts or cultural differences in the Gaming and Technology Industries. Wish me luck!
