Probally wrong section, but i didn't see any that would support this question.
I also didn't get any valid responses from steams forum which is why I am posting it here and not on steam again.

I don't think many people, including me, know much about programming. We are a community of gamers but that doesn't necessarily mean that we know C++, C+, C#. All I know is action script and a bit of C+. You can find some tuts on digitaltutors or on Lynda.com

What program do you use? Microsoft Visual Studio?

I was gonna start learning C+ but then I decided making Movie FX was funner and easier, especially since I have After Effects. But, I would love to make games.

www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial has basic material

www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/C++ Might have what you're looking for.

What my programming friends do is just think or ask around for some possible programs that would help out friends (like me) and try to program something to work. Presumably the practice is good but they can also compare with other programming-affiliated people on ways to improve or things they did well

I know Java, and therefore know C# (Not entirely true, but the transition is fairly simple). I typically know what I'm going to do and google anything I don't know what to do that I need done inside what I'm coding.

all the C family languages are alike. Its just that C# has maybe some more options that other C languages.
