StarCraft II Tactics - Dominate The Competition

Dealing with the Forge Fast Expand (ZvP) "I'll take three bases over two any day." |
Vs. Protoss
Protoss’ FFE takes away Zerg’s greatest strength, their economic advantage. When a Protoss player is able to set up a successful FFE, instead of switching to an aggressive posture and build, instead you will want to continue to push Zerg’s primary strength, their economy.
You will want to take a 3rd base and Drone heavily. The earliest an FFE Protoss player can make a very forceful attack is at the 8 minute mark.

Vs. Protoss
An early scout with your 12th Drone can help determine if your Protoss opponent will be doing a FFE and allows you to plan accordingly. Once you identify a FFE, it’s time to push to that third base to match and exceeds the Protoss player’s economy. Additionally, at the 7 minute mark you will want to send an Overlord through the Protoss base to scout what the Protoss unit composition may be.
Determining early, and confirming, if the Protoss player is going for an FFE will help you plan your resources for an early 3rd base. Additionally, the 7 minute mark Overlord scout, and pre-attack scout will keep you abreast of the Protoss’ players build and general army composition. Failure to effective scout at these periods can you leave at a sub-standard unit composition.
The Protoss FFE attempts to take away the Zerg’s greatest strength. But by reclaiming the Zerg’s economic strength, by taking a 3rd base, you will walk into the mid-game with a stronger economy and thus a stronger army.
