Didn't get to do a viewing party for this latest episode as I got flown out to Los Angelos. It never ceases to amaze me how cool this whole experience really is. I had never been to California and just doing what I love gets me a free trip out west. In the airport the security guy recognized me from TV. Everyday theres a unique experience arising from the show and
I am always thankful for it.

This episode starts in the wake of Ryan's big victory. It really sent our spirits soaring because we had knocked off their top pick when they chose the match up. We were confident in our team dynamic and strategy. I was truly confident that we could sweep the remaining fights. It was no accident, the coaches did a good job of fostering our self confidence in getting us in the best frame of mind approaching the fights.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They have a clip of us pummeling in the cage which was a regular part of our training repertoire. I remember pummeling with Shamar once and using a bear hug that sent him into a wheezing, coughing fit. I was pretty impressed with myself until I realized he'd just become overwhelmed with the garlic odor on my breath. But, whatever, it gave me a new technique to use in the clinch.

On Brock's side they show Len upset with his decision loss. I know he was down but we all felt strongly that after the war he and Ryan had that he would be back in the wild card when the time came. It did seem telling that Brock wasn't there for Len's fight. Brock has his own personal life but it would be hard to sacrifice everything for a coach that wasn't willing to do the same. I understand he has personal issues but suddenly all Brock's gung ho speech about giving 100% loses a little validity.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll notice that Brock is on his guys about not being focused mentally and Im sure thats a side effect of not knowing if you're fighting soon. When you have the looming pick hanging over your head its hard to focus on your technique as much. You start worrying about getting banged up or wearing yourself out with a possible fight the next day. That is the clearest illustration of the advantage ofhaving the fight pick.

The show starts to touch on Chuck's role in the house. I liked Chuck a lot. He was always light hearted in the house and kept it interesting. He was always making up a new healthy concoction. I learned a lot of diet recipes on the show including diet meatloaf, pancakes and guacamole. Definitely makes a two month long weight cut a little easier.

For the fight picks we took Ramsey vs Rader. We felt that Ramsey's wrestling would overwhelm Rader. The other team seemed pleased with the pick but we couldn't understand why. Mostly we assumed they were excited they didn't have to fight him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the other team took Ramsey lightly. Ramsey likes to make friends with everyone and tries to make everyone laugh. I think this leads people to believe he's soft. I like Ramsey's mentality. We've all gotten to the show because we fight, there is no need to try and act tough. Were already going to fight and we all are here because we enjoy it. So you might as well have fun in the mean time.

Ramsey's toenails and Glee were small potatos compared to what came out in the ensuing weeks. The dancing really came out of Ramsey just being considerate to the guys in the house. He understood everyone was trapped in the house away from there girlfriends or wives and so he had a Valentine's surprise for everyone. He came out and did a dance in some heart covered boxers. This was funny but didn't really pick up everyone's spirits in the way Ramsey intended so he had to up the ante. Next he came out in a leopard print cock sock. Ramsey is really selfless and willing to take the necessary measures to keep morale up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All Ramsey's behavior did make Shamar, who is the most conservative of all, a bit uncomfortable. Shamar should never have let anyone know that it made him uncomfortable because after that it became a contest between Mick and Ramsey to make Shamar more uneasy. Shamar is a very religious man and impressed me with his ability to take all the homosexual jokes in stride. He's a good sport albeit a very uncomfortable good sport.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We saw Matt Hughes came out for the other team. It was kind of cool though for some reason I never was a fan of his. He always came across as a bit arrogant but maybe that's just how TV portrays him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the fight we were ready for Ramsey to blow through Rader. Brock's team thought Ramsey was a joker but when it's time to work he's an animal. There are different levels of wrestlers and Ramsey is one of the best Ive worked with. He is very effective at using the cage to his advantage. He's good at shutting down jiu jitsu with his ground and pound on the cage.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fight went as expected. Ramsey came in throwing bombs to clinch up on the cage and started grinding. He eventually got him down and did some damage. I was concerned that Ramsey might be wearing himself out going for the takedown but Ramsey has a great gas tank. In round two it was even easier and Ramsey got two quick takedowns. On the second one Rader posted on his right arm and ended up damaging his shoulder pretty good. The submission looked easy but it was a result of Ramsey grinding away and the sholder injury from the big takedown.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brock seemed real pissed and chewed out his whole team. I ran into Len as he was storming out of the locker room. He was pissed he was getting chewed out despite fighting his heart out especially considering the fact that Brock wasn't there for his fight. This was just a glimpse into the crumbling team dynamic on the other side.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Rader took an unfair amount of criticism. He ran up against a tough fighter and hurt his shoulder. Not to mention having Ramsey on top of you is a nightmare, i feel bad for his girlfriend (haha only playing).
