Alienware E3: Planetside 2

Q: Hi! Who are you guys? Where are you based and what other titles have you previously worked on?

A: Sony Online Entertainment is headquartered in San Diego, CA with a satellite studio in Austin, TX. We develop and publish video games and have a strong focus on MMO games and are leaders in the free-to-play space. Our catalogues consists of many online games, beginning in 1996 with the launch of MMO landmark, EverQuest®. 

Since our inception, we have published more than 30 titles across multiple genres on PlayStation platforms, PC and Mac — including EverQuest® II, Free Realms®, Star Wars®: Clone Wars Adventures™, DC Universe™ Online, PAYDAY™: The Heist and the upcoming highly anticipated PlanetSide® 2 to name a few.

Q: What can you share about what you will be doing at your booth?

A: SOE will have a wide range of new content and titles to show off at this year’s E3. The team will be offering the first hands-on demos of PlanetSide 2 and we are also unveiling two brand new games: Bullet Run™ and Wizardry Online. New content will also be on display with familiar titles such as DC Universe Online, Free Realms and Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. Additionally, Vanguard®: Saga of Heroes will make its return to the E3 show floor in preparation for its free-to-play transition later this summer. 

The EverQuest II area will also be buzzing as the development team will introduce players to a new innovative facial recognition software title, SoEmote™. This new software will track player’s facial expressions real time through a camera and will implement them in-game. 

Q: Is there anything brand new that you will be revealing at E3?

A: For new content, DC Universe Online will be showing off its fourth DLC pack — The Last Laugh — which features large-scale multiplayer combat, new light-powered legends characters, and an all-new weapon. Free Realms will also unveil the long awaiting regional expansion, Sunstone Valley, which is set to launch later this summer. A brand new in-game trading card game for Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures will also be on display at the booth.

Q: Do you have a release dates yet? If not, will there be beta testing opportunities?
