Alienware E3: Neverwinter
Monday, June 4, 2012
Q: Good afternoon! Who are you? Where are you based and what other titles have you all previously worked on?
A: Hi, I am Andy Velasquez, the Lead Producer on Neverwinter, the upcoming action MMORPG based on the immensely popular Dungeons & Dragons brand. Located in Los Gatos, California, Cryptic has released several hit titles including City of Heroes and Star Trek Online.
Before taking on the Neverwinter project, I worked on Star Trek Online. It’s been a great experience to work on two high quality Cryptic titles, and to work collaboratively with Perfect World Entertainment to publish Neverwinter.
Q: What can you share about what you will be doing at your booth?
A: For E3, we've prepared a special demo, in which players will venture into the woods near Neverwinter, face dangerous enemies, and crawl through a foreboding dungeon. If you survive the dangers that lurk within, you'll get to roll on the loot table for a chance to win some serious Neverwinter swag! Behind closed doors, we’ll be unveiling some new features and giving press a chance to check out an exclusive playable demo.
Q: What title are you showing at E3? Is there anything new you can tell us about the game?
A: We’ll be working closely with Perfect World Entertainment to showcase Neverwinter. Booth
attendees will get to see the debut of Vellosk, a brand new Adventure Zone. Players will also get to try out three playable class builds on the show floor, so come out and play some Neverwinter! Everyone who plays will get a guaranteed prize, including limited edition Neverwinter tote bags, beanies, t-shirts, steins, and much more.
Q: Do you have a release date yet? If not, will there be beta testing opportunities?
A: There isn’t an official release date yet, but we are planning for Q4 in 2012. There will absolutely
be beta testing opportunities available. Regularly visit our official website: www.playneverwinter.com to stay up to date with our beta plans.
Q: Have you released any system requirements?
A: We’ll be releasing this at a later date as we continue to develop the game.
Q: Is this a game that plays better on a high-end system like an Alienware?
A: While we are dedicated to providing a solid gameplay experience for a wide range of systems, players will really get to experience the compelling features, action gameplay, and vivid graphics at its fullest with high-end systems such as Alienware.
