"It is with great satisfaction that we also can announce that Payday 3 production is officially initiated and at a full design stage," CEO Bo Andersson Klint said as part of Starbreeze's latest financial report.

Although he didn't share any specifics about what kind of new changes or innovations we can expect to see from Payday 3, Klint did note that Starbreeze has no plans to rush it onto store shelves.

"I'd like to especially clarify that this project will enjoy as much time as we deem needed," he said. "It will be done when it's done. This is our single most important brand today and the cornerstone of our business and we will treat it accordingly. Updates in the near future might be scarce and far between. You simply don't rush Payday 3."

Seems fans of the franchise will still have to wait some time but at least production has started.

Good, i have close to 500 hours in Payday 2 that i purchased for full price when it was in early access (which was more than the full price now).

The game is fun both on public, with friends and even on solo. They had that shitty deal with 505 games when they added the microtransactions and all that stuff that people hated the game on. After overkill got all the rights back, they immediately removed them. So i don't think they intended to bring these shitty microtransactions in the first place.

Yes it has a fuckton of DLC's which i'm not a fan of, but i own like 80% of them and i most likely made all my money back with the free cases i got as a drop and sold on the market.

So if the price will be as reasonable as payday 2 at launch, you bet i will purchase the 3rd one, and it's going to be one of the few games i've purchased at full price, like payday 2.

Oh! You ARE sick!

I am glad they won't rush it. I guess fixed release dates have been bad for many games, because they often don't take the time to really polish the game. A great example, why waiting can result in a great game release are Rockstar games. They wouldn't have released any GTA version without making sure it is in a state they are completely content with. Hope Starbreeze will do the same!

I wish them good luck,

Good news indeed. So many games are released with barebones these days. Serious and well-known titles shouldn't stoop to Early Access.
