Okay, so I got this laptop from my buddy for like $300 and I'm trying to figure out the best GPU I can put in this thing to make it a little more up to speed.
On the bottom is says

"Alienware 17 Deployed August 24 2013"
"NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M with 3GB GDDR5"
"Intel Core i7-4700MQ"
"Reg Model P18E"
"Reg Type NO: P18E001"

My power supply says
"Dell AC Adapter Model DW5G3"
"Input 100-240V~ 50-60Hz 2.5A"
"Efficiency Level V"
Appears to be 193.94 Watts.

Any help would be appreciated.

780m is drop in plug and play is is I believe the 880m, but it's just an overclocked 780m and they had some pretty major heat issues.  The 980m is doable but there were some caveats to that one as you may need the 120hz screen or possible some other combination.  Pretty sure the 1060 was also usable but again there might be conditions such as 120hz screens.  The 1070 was used as well but I think it required chassis modification to make it work.

I had a 980m in mine that I put in and upgraded myself until I moved to the 17R4 and it worked well, just make sure you have the proper heatsink ( I think your fine with the 770m one ) and make sure you have adequate thermal pad placement.

You can find a lot more info in the notebookreview forums for that model, it was a pretty heavily modded lineup and lots of people tried different things.

Alienware 17R4 / 7820HK / GTX1080 / 16Gb DDR4 / 512gb M.2 NVMe , 1tb SATA SSD, 1tb SATA M.2
