Sometime i feel like bots picked up all giveaway keys.

Feels like any free game should have multiple hoops to jump through to trip up bots.

The first time this site gaveaway Dead by Daylight, you needed to be level 10 to claim the game, The good thing was that the giveaway lasted for an entire month. From creating a new account to reaching level 10, that could've been done if you logged in every day doing the weekly and daily quests and voting to get points that doesn't even include points from upvotes when you create a post, so just doing the bare minimum of activity could get you level 10 in a month. The giveaway started with a requirement of Level 20 but dropped to level 10 as the month progressed which was actually doable for a new account.

The giveaway truly did last for the entire month and on the last day there were still keys...I think having the level requirement really deterred bot accounts as leveling mulitple accounts would be seen as not worth the effort and on the plus side it made a bunch of real people come to the site every day and be active in order to get the game so they stayed with the site after it was over.

I was one of those people, I didn't actually get the game back then because I thought it was too much effort (Haha) but I did keep coming back to the site.

I'm probably going to ruffle some feathers but I think a person should be a member for "X" amount of days (30 is a good number) before being eligable for giveaways. So many people come here only for the giveaways and then they leave when it's over never to be seen again. Very few stay and become a contributor to the site or make and comment on posts. Us regulars who have been here for a while should get priority. Of course they do these giveaways hoping to get more members but I would love to see a graph that shows how effective this method actually is. I think it's safe to assume that traffic increases during these giveaway periods and drops back down to the prior numbers when the giveaway is over.

I don't tell the world about giveaways from here either. If they aren't a member then they shouldn't be joining just for a chance to win. Members who advertise these giveaways on Reddit or other social sites are just lessening their own chances of winning the giveaway. This is stupid in my opinion. Keep it to yourself and quit telling the world or the world will come and take what is ours with little thanks in return.

I basically came for the Path of Exile giveaways a few months back (required level 5 for one of the 2 giveaways) and stayed around. Yes my account is much older, it seems I already had an account on here, but I still don't remember ever hearing of the site before the PoE giveaway... Oh and I had no ARP on my account at all when I came for the POE event.

Edit: Oh and I was one of the lucky ones to be able to get a Dead by Daylight key. I did not get a Silent Hill DLC key but I did get the main game.

Don't think the recent giveaway can be claimed by the bot. Alienware staff/admin actually did a pretty decent job as we are required to login for consecutive 5 day to get a key, first come first serve basis and only active member who login everyday get it so fair enough.

In the past giveaway without requirement is the worse as even new registered user able to claim it as well so IMHO the Dead of Daylight is actually pretty fair giveaway in comparison.

Yeah, if you truly login to the site everyday you would've noticed that sometimes the leaderboard is full of high level bots, either exploiting the system or just logging in everyday. Alienware arena staff just hides the leaderboard/wipes it from bots from what I've gathered. Bots are a really big problem and it's only gonna get worse.
