M17 R3 Macros for Mute, Volume up and Down

I have attempted to set up the Alienware Macros keys for Mute, Volume Up and Volume Down but it won't recognize the Function (FN) key when attempting to create the macros for each. I also went to the BIOS to switch the F keys to multimedia but it didn't change anything when trying to create the macros. The reason I want to create the volume and mute macros is because I want access to my F keys while not having to use two keystrokes to mute when customers walk in our shop. I was able to create macros in my previous Alienware 17, but I have not been able to figure out a workaround for my new M17 R3. Thank you in advance for whoever might have a way to solve this for me!
