Developer studio CD Projekt Red (CDPR) postpones update 1.2 until the second half of March. This update was originally planned for February. According to the studio, it is necessary to postpone because of the size of the update and the recent cyberattack on the company.

On the 24th of February CDPR announced on their Twitter that update 1.2 will be postponed. they say that they need more time in order to release a very good update

Our goal for Patch 1.2 goes beyond any of our previous updates. We’ve been working on numerous overall quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure that’s what you get. With that in mind, we’re now aiming for release in the second half of March. - CDPR

The developer studio is now aiming at the second half of March to come with the release of the update. More information will be shared at a later date.

The recent cyberattack on the company is also one of the main reasons why update 1.2 is not done yet. The attackers got inside CDPR's internal network and were able to steel the source codes for the games The Witcher 3, Gwent and Cyberpunk 2077. A ransom note was left behind but the company let the world know that they were not going to negotiate with the attackers nor pay the demanded ransom. As a response to that, the hackers leaked the source code of Gwent and sold the codes for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher.

Update 1.2 is part of an extensive roadmap for the game Cyberpunk 2077. In January, CDPR already released update 1.1 which was basically an update full of bug fixes and reliability improvements. Update 1.2 was planned to get released a couple of weeks later. According to the company, the update is seriously bigger than its predecessors and will bring significant improvements to the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 got released on the 10th of December and didn't have a very good start at all. The game had significant performance issues and a lot of bugs. Most of those problems were to be found on the console versions of the game but also the PC version is not what the whole hype was all about. CD Projekt Red got sued by its investors because of alleged deception regarding the technical state of Cyberpunk 2077.
