Anime Landscape on Streaming Services

  • 2

I think that right now in 2022 is the best time to be an anime fan. The reason being is that we as fans now have numerous ways to watch our favorite shows. Sure, there are a few shows that are only available on websites like 9anime or kissanime, but we still have it made compared to those in the past. The landscape a few years ago saw many anime fans either getting anime from the back section of Blockbuster or from waitng for Toonami to come on Saturday nights. Streaming services are our saving grace in this era of anime watching. Netflix was the first to start bringing some of our favorite shows to the light of day. I can't explain how excited I was when Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, Naruto, and Ouran became available for the public on Netflix. Soon after, other services started to copy that with different properties going to separate services which even saw anime only streaming services like Funamation and Crunchyroll. The present day situation is even more amazing now with anime on newer streaming services like Disney+ and HBO Max. In my opinion, the best is yet to come. What do you think about the current anime situation and how could it get better or worse?
