What is eSports Fantasy Cards?

This new site feature/program gives our members the opportunity to unlock player cards from the top CS GO teams to build their fantasy dream team. You will compete against your fellow Alienware Arena members to win prizes once the season is out of beta testing.

During the beta test season, we will be using old match data to test the scoring system and get your feedback on every faucet of the program. We want to hear from you on how we can make the program better, easier, and resolve any bugs/issues you might find during the beta test season.

How do I join?

Go to the Lineup page and agree to join the beta test season: https://na.alienwarearena.com/esports/fantasy/season/beta-test-season/lineup

How does it work?

After joining the beta test season, you will be able to add a player card to your collection at the cost of 10 redeemable ARP. Note that using Redeemable ARP doesn’t remove ARP from your lifetime ARP total and is the same type of ARP that is used when you enter an ARP sweepstakes.

After unlocking player cards, you can add them to your lineup and begin to rack up points for the week and the overall season based on their performance during matches.

How are rankings determined?

Currently, we are using a player’s Average Damage per Round (ADR) to determine their player score each week. At the end of the each week the sum total ADR of your lineup will determine your place on the leaderboards.

Why ADR and not other stats?

We wanted to make the beta test season both simple to understand, but accurately reflect a player’s affect in their match. We’ve found ADR to be a simpler method to determine a player’s impact in a match compared to kills, assists, deaths, or a combination of other stats.

Although, we’ve started with ADR, we are open to hearing your thoughts and suggestions throughout the beta test season and beyond in order to make a fun, fair, and engaging eSports fantasy feature for Alienware Arena members.

Are there prizes?

There are plans to have prizing in future seasons for eligible countries once we’ve worked out any kinks in the system.

What are the rules?

Unlock player cards, set your lineup each week, and score points. It doesn’t get all that more complicated.

I found a bug/issue where can I submit it?

If you find a problem, we want to know about it. You can post about it here and we'll be keeping an eye on it throughout the beta test season to resolve issues before going live with our first season (TBD). Even if you just have a suggestion for an improvement, we want to know your thoughts.

You buy cards, that you know nothing about. The cards might or might not return a favorable score. If this isn't a betting game, i am not sure what is. or am I misunderstanding something?
