how to disable touchpad

  • 2
Hello everyone, as the title says, I'm asking how to disable the touchpad of the new alienware 17. I tried to press fn+f11, wich should be the function to switch it on and off, but it doesn't work. It only shows on screen that touchpad is on, and doesnt switch it off. the buttons are both working alone, but they just don't work in this specific combination. What can I do? Is there another way to disable the touchpad? thank you in advance.

Open your Command Center At the bottom you should see where it says, "Alien Touch, click on it.". Under 'Tapping' you'll see where it can be disabled when a mouse is plugged in.

Ok, this is strange. When i open the command center and click on alientouch appears a blackened screen surrounded by the normal alienware graphical theme. all the other funcion in the command center do work in the right way. Sincerely I don't know what to do now.

control panel / devices and printers / right click on mouse / mouse options / device settings / check disable internal when mouse is attached

this method will work if your command center doesn't, Just tested it.

Throbsteele when i right click on my mouse and select mouse option i can't see in the device settings hoe to disable internal. I can only change sets regarding mouse peerformance (speed, sensibility, icons etc), but i don't see how to set the touchpad. I am currently using windows 7. Deeph, i already said that i tried fn+f11 but it doesn't work.

FN(function key)+f11(t-pad) this is how works on my alienware 17

Ok, i re-installed the touchpad driver and now it seems to work correctly with fn+f11. Thank you all for the answers and for patience.
