Whoa... I just lost $50 worth of Dell Rewards?

  • 12

Whenever I reached a AWA level milestone, I choose the Dell Rewards option hoping to stack enough rewards to purchase something nice. I had $10, $20, and $30 ($50 total) in my account, but whenever I tried to purchase something with my rewards, my order was cancelled without reason.....

......ok, it's cancelled, BUT MY $50 WAS NEVER CREDITED BACK TO MY ACCOUNT. So I literally just lost $50...

I messaged the Dell.com customer service chat and the representative said "if the ordered is cancelled, we do not credit the rewards back" ...uh....no.. that's not how it's supposed to work. You don't have a customer use a giftcard, cancel the order, and not return the giftcard back... i think that's called stealing?

Anyway, sorry for the vent, I was just shocked from this. I emailed the Sales team yesterday, hopefully they answer this week. Just wanted to see if this happened to anyone else and if there was a resolution. frown

Don't you have any government agency that protects customers from fraudulent promotions?  I tried that when i purchesed my ASUS laptop included in the promo is a free upgrade SSD and 4gb ram.  but customer service said that the shop i purchased it is not part of the promo.  but in their poster it literally says that it's part.  They won't relent and only apologize but it's their policy.  So i went to our Department of Trade and industry and they said i was right and agreed that i should've gotten the items.  So they called a mediation and there's an implication to sue the ASUS distributor for fradulent promotion.  so without any arguement ASUS relented and gave me my promotional items plus extra freebies.

Why don't you try to report them.  just make sure you have evidence and screenshots of your transactions.

I am debating it, I doubt it'll get my issue resolved, but at least it'll help others know that the online store has very poor customer service.

That's not right... Let us know the final outcome... Good Luck.

well here's an update... I emailed the Sales team and they said they cannot help because they can't look into my Order History..... I thought Sales can look into past Sales but guess not, so back to square one... Going to contact the customer service again

Big international company tramples little guy to save 50 bucks...  Continues to make billions.  Little guy has no apparent recourse.  What a surprise!

A similar thing happened to me. I used the $50 Dell rewards to buy a $70 product from the Dell store, and the cost that was not covered by the rewards I paid out of pocket. However the product was complete trash so I returned it and the only refund I recieved was the $20 something I paid out of pocket, my rewards were gone because they "cannot refund dell rewards". Sorry this happened to you, I can relate to the pain a little.

lol feels like it. i'm not going to call the BBB over 50 bucks or lose sleep over it, but damn, that would have been a nice new keyboard or mouse..... :/

Honestly I'm not surprised. It's been almost 2 weeks since I redeemed my $100 in Dell rewards, and they still haven't even showed up in my AWA account, let alone my Dell.com account. Even if I chose the merch as rewards, I'm 95% certain they won't get shipped and they'll have some bullshit excuse like "oh sorry we ran out of stock on this mousepad, but we can't exchange it for something else so you're SOL". I didn't have any expectatiosn for "freebies" you get in crappy sites like this.

Also, 10+20+30 is $60 not $50.
