Konami is 230% better without Hideo Kojima

  • 243

Konami business moves might not like players and fans of Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and Castlevania, but they definitely pleased investors and shareholders. Namely, since the company dropped out of expensive projects such as MGS-5 and dedicated itself to the mobile games and arcade titles for Pachinko machines in Japan, they profit in 2016 jumped to the big 230%.

However, this does not mean that the prior Konami is bright future. The reason why their profits are higher lies in the fact that they invested much less. Earnings alone actually fell by 8.5% compared to the same period in 2015.

this says it all "Earnings alone actually fell by 8.5% compared to the same period in 2015." LOL

I think they can't work/won for a long time with path like this ... "in the fact that they invested much less".

True. They may have increased their profits short term, but we'll most likely see it tank in several months/a year.

It is now all good, after Hideo will bring hes game, Konami will cry like little child...

Now that Kojima is making a game for PS4 if that game become a major hit then too bad for Konami for letting Kojima go and not spending more money on his projects.

But they merged the Rhythm gaming departments and threw its focus on pachinkos :/
